I think his well-maintained, hyper-elite facade as a 'serious' poster is failing. There's no way someone in correct mental health or who isn't trolling could actually suggest occupying 2 out of 3 midfield positions with Obi and Nagatomo considering the better options we currently have.
IDK i think a playmaker type CM, a defensive tank at DM with Nagatomo could make for an interesting midfield, then theres the option of throwing in Obi as a sub for the CM or DM.
One stat often overlooked is that they simply might play well together,
Nagatomo could push the ball foward on the FB side, or cover a SB pushing foward or make for interesting flank play, Benched or not i think he's one of our more valuable players. He could even make for a good DM.
Obi is growing on me, his devotion to the club warrants more confidence, liked him with Poli, would like to see him and Criestig our academy boys challenging for spots.
Theres still Tassi, once considered the next Baggio might still be the next Pirlo who was once D'agostino, and might be Verratti who i wanted at 10m when in Serie B.
The concept of no Italians that can contribute baffles me, a Serie B uprising or available talent belonging to direct competition, players not willing to sit bench or reserve i can understand.
If we want to send our players out for more exp fine, but at a certain point we should bring them back to form chemistry with the team and take a chance, I still think we should invest in Italians whether or not our players are away.
I personally want to see an Italian in every 3rd, I want Italian Gk but could settle for a backup that plays Coppa Italia.
An Italian overhaul would be amazing before the Euro.
