Time to move on. No need to fight amongst ourselves over someone who’s gone. He’s a PSG player already and has acted that way since it could be official. Hurt or not, leave it be. Mods should close the thread bc he won’t feature for our club again. Stop the irrelevant discussions already and lock the thread. Move it to past players and let’s get on with it. We’re a step away from a champions league final and a copa italia final without him. I’m tired of seeing this name here.

He played 8 matches in our Champions League campaign this season. To say we got this far "without him" is hilarious.

I'm beyond happy that we are playing decent football without him holding the fort, and I'm also kind of glad that he got injured (in a glass half-full way obviously) because this way we got to gradually get used to not having him around, it would definitely be a lot worse if we had to go through the drama during the summer break. But let's be real.

This past few pages are a travesty, good thing at least you showed some common sense.

I will never forget how him (and also De Vrij) played against Barcelona. Some FIF members are hurt and forgot how good Skriniar was for us, even tho I wouldn't call this one of his better seasons for us.

His poor matches this season were when we performed poorly as a whole. If we had Hakimi and Perisic this season, they too would be underperforming when nothing was clicking in the first half of the season.

As for the comments in this thread, I too struggle to relate with some fans because it feels more like an anti-Inter message board of some other club. I understand that some people can't cope with loss well and that they perhaps also struggle with being on the (management's) side that made stupid decisions and now has to cope with consequences of those actions. Another fraction of fans also possibly has the timeline of events leading to this wrong, or they selectively pick and choose the bits and pieces that fit their narrative. Some expect the player to behave like the village donkey, to take beating until the spine snaps (metaphorically but also literally in this case).
Even a die-hard Interista like let's say Dimarco has to be aware of the comments - not on antiquated FIF of course but elsewhere online against Skriniar and even they can't stay oblivious about certainty of the same inevitable scenario happening to them too, the very second the club deems them expendable as well.

Ungratefulness is the worst, and it's very grating. I'll also remind you that we still have to extend Bastoni and Dzeko, the latter who replied with "ask the club" last night when the press asked him about the new contract. Not to be confused with my personal opinion on whether we should extend Dzeko to begin with.

In this moment I can understand the club a.k.a. the management. We are not out of the woods with CL next year. The biggest catastrophe would be to renew the Dzekos for big money and then to miss the CL.

But some fraction of the fans are acting like Skriniar is some kind of defending god and we'll be doomed without him. The facts showed that this is not true. He was very good for us, but as I've already said many times before, he is not so good as RCB. Ball playing defender like Darmian is much more useful than him. The mistake of the management is that they didn't sell him, when they could do it. Bastoni is completely different player though. His skillset is so rare for a defender, and we shall keep him.

I still find announcing the departure in the middle of the season is a pussy move. Okay Skriniar might have informed the directors soon so they have time to prepare. But keep his secret to the teammates for the sake of dressing room's harmony. He id still receiving millions from Inter and he (we) must keep fighting till the end ffs.

I lose a lot of respect for this guy. No place in the LG Inter section.

This is exactly my position. As the middle CB he was unplayable and it's a shame we won't see him play for us there anymore.

Should've sold him, but I can also understand the pride of not being a marketplace for PSG. I know, it's fucked up. I hoped he would sign another contract with us, but I can understand why he didn't. He had a good run with Inter, but clearly we have huge financial issues that are beyond just wages. There is still a possibility that this current Inter era is ending.

Way to just single out one sentence out of context, no where in that post did I say we got this far without him contributing at all. No where. What I did say in my post about stopping the arguing, is that since he’s been out, we’ve progressed just as well. But you laser focus on one line, grab your sword and shield, and get into defensive stance. Skriniar was a wonderful player for us and I wish he would’ve stayed and been captain for years to come. But that’s not the case anymore and theres nothing anyone here can do about it. It’s time to move on, the back and forth is ridiculous considering we’re so close to something none of us dreamed could happen with this current team/coach.

Us getting this far is made even more amazing because a mercenary cunt like Skriniar left us for greener passages.. Just like Zlatan!

Would love to know what he's thinking, watching this tonight and watching former players hakimi and perisic coming back and wishing they were playing for us tonight
