If Vicario costs half the price of Onana and is better than him then why pay 40m for Onana when they can have Vicario for 20m?

Vicario is not perhaps better than Onana but he might have more potential. However, Onana has much more credentials, has tons of experience and visibility from the CL which means a lot when big spenders like Chelsea go and buy players.

40m€ for Onana (let alone more) would be good business given we have price settled for Vicario already.

Onana has the big stage experience, and is a bigger name internationally. At some point, you're paying for confidence they will succeed, rather than gambling.

Also he has better passing which is considered important these days and he has a reasonable salary. He's also just 6 months older than Vicario and he seems to like being at the club. The only reason to sell Onana now and replace him with Vicario is club's financial situation.

Onana's salary is 3m net. I doubt we would be given such salary to Vicario who has 2 seasons Serie A experience.

"is better" label is still questionable. Financial aspect seems ok (if inter really manage this aspect better), but sport aspect? it's foolish to depart Onana who has numerous european caps (europa league runner up, UCL semifinalist) rather than Vicario who has zero european caps.

Exactly. Kepa`s transfer market value was 20M and they payed 80M Euro. They keep overpaying for each player and Inter are fools not to take advantage.

If Inter really sell Onana, then make it well worth it.

i like the guy but he isn’t the end all be all. Some of these games we lost are laughable goals that if Handa was at goal you’d all be like when is that idiot retiring…..

So 40m on a free transfer should make us all dance. I’m not sold on the random Italian kid who has been good for 1 season to be our new #1.

The problem is the transfer fee. 40 mln is nothing for EPL rich clubs, and the management should be able to squeeze more for Onana.
