SANCHEZ: ‘MY INTER TEAMMATES DIDN’T UNDERSTAND WHY I LEFT’

Speaking to Sky Sports, Sanchez looked back at his exit from Inter last summer and how his former teammates felt.
“Some teammates at Inter told me that I could still be useful and that they didn’t understand why I left but that’s football, I wanted to play.

“However, I thank the people of Inter, I experienced good things in that locker room, now I am happy here in Marseille and every now and then, however, I hear from some former teammates, I get messages saying ‘Bravo Nino’.”

Inzaghi didn`t like his complaints but he was right to ask for more playing time, especially seeing the level of the forward department.

Only time we should have signed Sanchez was in 2011. I wouldn't deem his time here a success, just a useful but overtly expensive signing.

I didn't do the calculations, but overall Correa should be more expensive than Sanchez, or pretty close at least. The difference on the pitch is huge though.

I'm not mad about onboarding Correa, even in hindsight, replacing an old, expensive, injury prone player with cheaper, younger and hungrier. Bayern have been doing it for years. Where we went wrong was 1) the contract offer was undeserved and 2) there was clearly no psychological assessment to gauge Correa's mindset because clearly he doesn't have a winning mentality, at least, not one that will sustain his performance for an entire season. We've seen the same with Kdog, gabriel b. and Ciao Mario. Quite an obvious problem that keeps going unaddressed.

Yeah, there was some interest in Correa, but Inzgahi blocked any move. What an idiot really.

I really thought that I was a little harsh, when I said Alexis will have more goals than Dzeko and Correa this season... As it seems he will have more goals than both of those guys and Lakaka as well.
Getting rid of this guy for free was one of the most retarded things this club has done in the last 10 years.

It only made sense if you were making room for dybala.

We miss that oomph factor Alexis had, he had a football IQ none of our forwards have, always capable of finding (or at least trying to find) that defence breaking pass or move. In addition to that, he fucking ran and pressed which is something 3 of our 4 current ones that are absolutely useless fucks can't do.

The whole Alexis thing was messy and confusing, at least to me, as I recall. Always injured after a long stint with Chilean National Team, with their coach bitching at Inter for him not getting enough playing time. Then Alexis would do the same thing, via media leaks. Couple of costly penalties, and tendency to turn into defenders, but you could never say he didn't give it his all and occasionally came up big. Hindsight, better than purchasing Correa. Always thought the golden handshake deal was to free up monies to get Dybala or Bremer (to replace Di Vrij) then they went for Lukaku and lost out on Bremer. Like I said I could be wrong and or utterly confused, and it wouldn't be first time especially regarding this club.

Inzaghi didn't value Sanchez. He was always last in the pecking order. I'm sure he communicated to management that if we needed to save a few bucks, to start with Sanchez. Inzaghi is a moron. Not breaking news.

The thing with this club is, we don't make one of two mistakes. We make a series of mistakes one after another and continue to fuck ourselves by making more mistakes to cover the previous mistakes. I like Sanchez. If he's not injured he could still offer more than all of our current strikers. But we should not offer more than 1+1 deals to over 30 years old players who past their prime in the first place. First we made Sanchez and Vidal two of our highest paid players on 3 years deals, and then we gave them both golden handshake to terminate the last year of those contracts. There is zero excuse to make deals like this at this time, specially when every man and his dog knows about the financial situation at this club.

And then came the signing of Correa for the amount and then abandoning the idea of signing Dybala for free for the sake of getting an out of form and out of shape Lukaku back and making him one of the highest earners in the current squad. The fact that we might still consider keeping him beyond this season, confirm than we did not really learn from our mistakes and these series of mistakes is going to continue beyond this season. Some people might continue to make reasons and excuses as why we make such deals, but it's sheer incompetence at the end. I would never agree to these kind of deals if I had a saying in this club, never! We clearly lack certain characteristics in this squad which Sanchez and Dybala could cover up, but we let em go for the sake of having two shitbags who offer little to zero on the pitch.

If we don't change our philosophy, these series of poor mistakes are about to continue.

Yeah, I forgot about Vidal getting the golden handshake as well. Interested to see if Inter makes yet another series of bone headed deals this summer. Inter will have a lot of holes to fill and desperately needs to get it right. Surprisingly, they have with Darmian and Acerbi despite my concerns. We all hope for decent signings and or get some favorable loan deal etc. Yet, i get a sense of decay, a slow rot, with this club due in part to financial woes but it's more than that. This club seems consistently make a mess with everything they do: shirt sponsors, stadium plans, it boarders on gross incompetence and a lack of accountability.

Still, somehow Inter is in the QFs and still fighting for CL spot for next season. It's amazing and maddening at the same time.

If we weren't run by clowns our frontline would be Lautaro-Dybala-Dzeko-Sanchez this season without paying over 50m for two useless shitbags and the golden handshake for getting rid of Sanchez. We could have more goals, more creativity and more technique in the team, and our freekicks were not a complete waste of time and instead become an actual goal scoring opportunity which could unlock several games for us.

But when we got Sanchez, there were no signs about the incoming financial disaster for Suning. And, actually he was good for us, definitely much better than Correa. We could have respected the last year of his contract, if Correa was gone last summer, but a certain person blocked him.
Vidal 3rd year was definitely a mistake.

Correa's position had little to do with Sanchez.

Inzaghi did not block any sale of Correa. He did block a potential loan deal at the end of August when we had zero options to replace him other than loaning some scrub of Caicedo level ourselves.

Dybala was blocked for Lukaku.

Sanchez wanted to leave. You can blame Inzaghi for not playing him enough, over Dzeko, but not for sending him away. You can blame him for wanting out as well.

You can blame Inzaghi for blocking a potential Dzeko exit, but overall I think that was a wise decision. Whereas extending him isn't.
