It certainly isn't about overreacting. I constantly criticize Inzaghi's decision not to give more starts to Gosens but i realize it's just me.

If you search through older posts in Gosens' thread, you will see that I was also one of these whom wanted Gosens to be given more minutes, which I still do, but let's not fool ourselves and think that Gosens' is a better solutions than Dimarco for the starting role.

Our game isn't based on playing defensively. We are more of an offensive team but sadly our tactical discipline when defending is terrible, and Dimarco is NOT the only problem in this aspect.

Again, I don't mind Gosens' starting in particular matches while we want to sit back, but in overall he doesn't seem like an ideal option over Dimarco. Not at least for now, because he was given chances, also as a starting player while he was rather underperforming. Dimarco is far from an ideal player as well, but in this Inter, he's a better option than Gosens' at least to me.

The burden was on us to create against Porto at home so that's why he started. He contributed efficiently in the first half and created a couple of decent scoring opportunities.

Starting with Gosens would've meant that we'd rather settle for a draw than take risks for a chance at victory, which would've been the wrong way to approach this tie.

DiMarco is better offensively. Gosens is better all round player.

If Lautaro finished that chance, we'd all be complementing this guy.

He was great defensively. Showed signs of tiredness very early on, but it's understandable given he missed so much time

Well, even before his absence of last few matches, he was still kind of disappointing because his offensive part of the game was his strongest attribute and yet again he failed to delier. So many misplaced crosses, bad decisions while in open play and so on. Let's just hope he picks up his form quickly again because to me he's a better solution than Gosens.

yesterday was one of his best defensive performances in an Inter shirt.

He was always a bad defender. There was just a period where his crosses were working, and it seemed that he is something special. Gosens is better player overall, even Biraghi is better. I'd sell him if the proper offer arrives, but it will be on the new coach, unless Inzaghi win CL and stays.

Nah, rather have him than a Primavera player.

He's good enough to be a rotational player, but he's no starting material for Inter. I rather keep him, but if an offer of +30m arrives, I'd sell him.

Those crosses, long balls and the defending are the problem areas for him.

Bullshit. It's actually his crossing and long balls that are pretty damn good. We have scored many goals with him being directly/indirectly involved in these long range passing or direct crossing. Just because he's going through a period of bad form, doesn't mean that we can just discredit his contributions.

Though last night he still delivered some really dangerous balls in the box, it takes both parties to have a great timing and positioning to convert these. But okay, if you guys say so let be it.

These young players barely get their names on media by showing a glimpse of decent performances in a couple of matches. Then they start posting their pics with their chicks on Instagram and then they are back to mediocrity

Come on, his crosses into box mostly sucks. I would rather him play the ground ball more often.

Crosses are usually fine. Recepients on the other hand are usually in no man's land

His defending was atrocious in that match. Sometimes it feels like he's not taking it seriously, he's not in it for real (the defending part). I understand he's offensive weapon but you can't fucking cheat in defending no matter what's your role or position, you're not Messi. At Inter everyone needs to be fully focused on the defending because we cannot outscore opponents, specially in these times.
