Just sign one of the free agents. We can't compete in terms of transfer fee but surely on wages. :yao:

Scamacca on a loan is a no brainer.
Why not? Dzeko is already an old dog, it is unknown whether he can even play next season... And Scamacca on loan with option for 25m is a nice variant.

Scamacca isn't good. There is a reason why West Ham trust Antonio rather than Scammacca on starting XI.

If we sign Scamacca on loan then we better let Dzeko leave on a free. An attack of Lautaro, Dzeko, Scamacca and Correa/low cost SS would be dead slow.

GdS reported that Inter are willing to pay for the loan of Scamacca. Probably still better than extending Dzeko.

More importantly for Thuram there is competition from Barcelona (Thuram`s dad already mentioned them in an interview).

Barcelona President Joan Laporta confirmed yesterday that the club would ‘definitely’ be signing a forward this summer, and Fabrizio Romano has revealed one of the names on their list:
“There are really many clubs after Thuram. Barcelona, Inter but especially 2/3 Premier League clubs… it’s open and all of them are informed on the conditions of the deal”

I just hope Barcelona won`t be offering 5M salary after the Depay episode (although they have sold him for profit 3M).

Thuram would be an idiot to go to Barcelona. He will rot on their bench.

Did you see his dad`s statement?

Any player dreams of playing for Barca” Lilian Thuram, his father and former Blaugrana player himself, explained to RAC1.

Any deal for Thuram will depend on what they can offer him both in terms of finances and role, neither of which are likely to compare to some of his other alternatives. The attraction of playing for Barcelona has proven an effective bargaining chip though.

Thuram senior also explained that he say Barcelona on the up again under his former teammate, with whom he shared a dressing room for two years between 2006 and 2008.
“Little by little it is becoming a great team again, it is first and I am very happy for Barca and for Xavi.”

Thuram has become an activist for equal rights and written a book on racism too, as he tries to combat one of the most persistent evils in France and beyond.
“It’s very difficult, because when you talk about racism, sexism or homophobia, you’re telling people that they need to change their way of doing things, but many people don’t want to change. That’s why I think you have to tell people that it’s not difficult to do.”
Growth decree sits on Inter`s side, however racism is still on the same levels in Italy...

A no-brainer is something you'd do even without thinking -- i.e. you don't need to have a brain to want Scamacca on loan
Of course ) You have to have a lot of brains to rely on a 37 year old man in the attack of a top club, yes, very reasonable.

It's surely more glorified place to play for Barcelona. But Thuram won't get a proper role there, 100% sure of that.

Hold your horses champ. It's an idiom. Let me try to explain again:

A decision is a no-brainer if it is very easy or obvious to make. For example, choosing Haaland over Correa is a no-brainer.

So, what he's implying is that loaning Scamacca is much better than extending Dzeko's contract, which you seem to agree with. In fact, he's saying loaning Scamacca is so good a move that it's independent of what we do with Dzeko -- there's no reason to think of other factors, you don't need a brain, you don't even need to think to loan Scamacca because he'd be great.

You are mistaking this expression for brainless or brain-dead. Someone is brainless or brain-dead if they're being very stupid. Note that brainless and brain-dead are adjectives, whereas no-brainer is a noun. So, he isn't calling you a no-brainer, it's the idea that's the no-brainer.

We wont have money to redeem Scamacca i.e. helping West Ham to recycle their flop. While we really own Thuram. Think again.
We might have the money to redeem him if the option is around €20m, and I don't rate Thuram highly enough to pay him €5-6m levels of net salary.
