There's no way Gladbach let Thuram go. They are involved in a CL qualification race and Thuram is integral to their challenge. Unless we can give them enough money to potentially offset not making the CL, which I doubt we can, it makes no sense for them to sell.

Similarly, they seem adamant about holding on to Sommer & Bensebaini rather than cashing in.
Unless correa gets a move this january he isnt coming with that being said I dont think we will do any transfers!

Correa won't move unless we're willing to cut our losses and let him leave for peanuts. We might do that in the summer but I wouldn't expect us to do it midseason. Who'd sign him anyway?

We shouldn't sign players for the sake of signing them. Let's hold on to our younger players and trim the squad until this ownership matter resolves. Thuram on a free in the summer makes sense tho.

In these situations I believe the payer with expiring contract has the upper hand > and usually he prefers to see his time out because:
  • he can decide where he wants to go instead of where the club wants to sell him (in an already limited market during January)
  • he and his agent will cash in a bigger signing on fee/bonus
  • more time to settle in (pre-season training)

According to the reports, Thuram already expressed his desire to stay until summer.

I'm not a fan of Thuram. Certainly not to the point where I'd want to move players to add him. Call me crazy but at this point I'd rather try to get Correa rolling then revisit in the summer.

I think Thuram would be good fit to Inzaghi system and he would bring useful elements we could use. He is big dude with solid dribbling ability and speed, he can carry the ball and is solid scorer.

I don’t think he is automatic starter but he would be good asset to the team if we can get him with good price and decent wages. He can partner every attacker we have. I also think he is at perfect age to take a next step and he has taken good steps as a player and new role as a striker seems to suit him well.

But I think this deal will be hard to pull as we don’t know what Correa future holds and Dumfries sale is key to to this transfer window.

He'll clearly never be more than a backup at Bayern but if he wants to go for the cash I won't blame him

I thought he was alright but not great. Would much rather have Kolo Muani but that ship probably already sailed.

In any case if he can also help us land Khephren I'm all for signing him. Khephren was really impressive whenever I've seen him.

We need to go for Thuram. Zhang needs to give the money. There are no such opportunities in the market too often.

He wouldn't be some hasbeen-signing. He's 25, hitting his prime years soon. Salary would be pretty high though, but the tax reductions helps us here.

Thuram is a not a free agent in January. Clubs might want to anticipate his free agency by buying him already in January, that's what BM wants to do to get even something back for the leaving player. Like they did with Zakaria year ago.

Yes, would be similar scenario as Eriksen.
It's too good to be true, Inter can sell this player for 40m in a couple of summers, if there is a chance and Inter don't get it.... there is something deeply wrong.

LAZARO DROPS INTER HINT ON THURAM MESSAGE
Inter are the favourites to sign Marcus Thuram from Borussia Monchengladbach and Valentino Lazaro, on loan at Torino, dropped a big hint that he could be coming to Italy. The 25-year-old played in the World Cup Final for France against Argentina and picked up a silver medal in Qatar.

His contract with Borussia Monchengladbach only runs to June 2023, so a January exit is possible, but more likely he might leave in the summer as a free agent.

Thuram was born in Italy in August 1997, when his father Lilian was playing for Parma, and has been linked with clubs including Milan and Bayern Munich.

Inter remain the favourites after coming close to a deal over the summer and eagle-eyed fans spotted a curious message on Instagram from Inter-owned Lazaro, who is currently on loan at Torino.

“Proud of you bro! Ci vediamo presto.”

He wrote the first part in English, but the second in Italian, which some saw as a hint he is heading towards Italy.

Even more intriguing is what ‘ci vediamo presto’ means: We’ll see each other soon.
I thought he was not moving in January, there were reports about this.

Lazaro is also away until summer.

Unless we have a club to take on Correa, I expect Thuram to move on a free in summer.
