Never thought I'd enjoy Baseball as much as I currently am. Think I mentioned this here before but I've been to the Dodgers stadium (I think) when I was in LA back in '12/'13 and it was hands down the most boring experience I've had to go through. But now I'm watching every game of the postseason and loving it! Of course I record all of the games and watch them on my own time because of the time difference and work and since no one gives a shit about the sport here or on my social timelines it's like I'm watching them live (unlike when I tried to watch the NBA playoffs and was spoiled a couple of times).

No idea on who to root for, I was leaning towards the Red Sox because I liked some of their players but I know them and the Yankees are the 2 biggest franchises and I usually root for the underdogs. When I consider the states or cities they represent I automatically call off the Astros because I'm not a fan of Texas but they have good players, Garcia had an amazing pitching display and the duo Correa & Altuve is awesome, apparently they're like the villans in the league? Being a neutral is fine for now I guess.

Anyways, looking forward to more baseball action. Does the World Series start soon after the CSs are done? hoping it takes a week or something because I'll try and get time off work in the 1st week of Nov.
The Astros are villains because they were caught cheating in 2017. Rob Manfred did nothing about it with a glorified slap on the wrist. Also called the World Series trophy a "piece of metal"

Glad the Astros look set to lose, but this Braves team is not good. I have zero clue how they're pulling this off. Their bullpen has been dominant.

I was rooting for a lockout. Damn. Now split capping will be encouraged like some people suggest. Not faithful to the Bay, that's now how this should work

AJ Preller runs his team like it's a video game, and I'm all for it.

Phillies wouldn't even make the playoffs with the previous format and now they are in the ws. Insane.

Screw Manfred. Bad owners can remain bad.

Phillies couldn't buy a hit after game three.
What team you support? As am new to the sport I'm more attracted to players than organizations and for some reason, my fav player is Rafael Devers. Love Suto's shuffle too. Only pitcher am interested in is Ohtani, which is strange because anime taught me that pitchers are the aces but after watching a season or two pitchers seem extremely unreliable and hitters have the advantage almost always, to me it felt like deGrom is the only one worthy of being called an ace but I could be out of my element here as am a bot in the sport.

Something I noticed and annoys me to no end, the fuck is up with managers taking off their starting pitchers when they were very good for the whole match just after getting hit once or twice in the 5th or 6th inning? Like with Phillies in the last game, that shit is very dumb and it's not 20/20 after Alvarez (my fav player in MLB the show) got that 3 run homer, I thought wtf as soon as he took him off. I understand that pitchers are under the most pressure but still trust should be very valuable for them. I think in baseball players get punished (subbed off) real quick, unlike other sports, if Gags was in baseball he would be in the minors his whole career.

I'm a Tigers fan. We were really good for most of my youth and then the past ten years we turned into one of the worst teams in the league.

Managers taking out their starters early is a recent phenomena - the last five years or so. The numbers tell you that the more time hitters face a certain pitcher in a game, the more likely they are to be successful. For average pitchers, two times through the lineup (5-6 innings) is their maximum before hitters catch on. I agree with you a lot. When you have a dominate stud like Wheeler you need to lean on them more.

I know you mentioned you're a newer fan, but there was a textbook example of this back in 2020. Black Snell was dominating the Dodgers in the World Series and his manager pulled him early, with a low pitch count. The Dodgers immediately jumped on the bullpen and won.

Bro I watched all the knockout matches on youtube and enjoyed it a lot. That ending was epic with Ohtani x Trout. Hopefully, this new season would be much better with the new rules. What annoys me about baseball is the amount of fuckin games they have, like 130 or some shit? They lose value. I only watch highlights on MLB's channel and try and tune in to the playoffs, if it's broadcasted in our region (which ain't often).

I'm also playing MLB the show 2023 and grinding it out.
