Given the way things have gone for Lukaku this season, Inter should seriously be looking at alternatives and getting ready to pack him back to London.

A few weeks out during the course of the season is okay but he has been injured for most of the season. For a player that is meant to be an integral part of our setup, his continued absence is simply not good enough.

So far it seems as one of the worst returns in football history. I was against his return and I hope that we will send him back after this season. At least - if our management wants to keep him - Chelsea's asking price should have dropped massively after this season.

Worse than Shevchenko return to Milan so far and that was pretty terrible.

Inexcusable return. Send him back after the world cup for all i care. We have managed without him, we don't need to sit here and play pussy to Simp Steven and his deFLEXion signing because he is running the club into the ground. Marotta and Co know Rom is done, and they will seriously contemplate either not renewing the loan again or rinsing Chelsea for peanuts. He is going to be on the wrong side of 30, carrying too much weight for his joints, and out of sync with all styles of play. He also doesn't have Papa Conte to hold his hand and he isn't going to be able to stat pad the same way he used too. Rubbish cameos and a waste of 1.5 years since he left us. He will be playing for Anderlecht in 3 years max. Thanks for the token trophy Rom, don't let the door smack you in your fat culo on the way out.

Imo this is not bad at all cause Chelsea know they can't ask for much. It's either a gift such as ala Alexis Sanchez coming from United, or nothing. Starting 23-24 season no way we pay another loan. If anything Lukaku for free to Inter and Inter paying full salary.

No point sending him back before end of season. We have already paid 8m for the loan and it's not like we can sign another forward in January. We shouldn't forget Dzeko is 36. He can't start week in week out. We need someone to give him some rest. Let's hope Lukaku can stay fit in second round and he can at least be a Dzeko backup.

The most expensive backup in football history.

As I said before we should ship him back at the end of the season forget that he even exists, in my opinion. We're ruining of the best transfer in our history by basically giving Chelsea all their money back.

Your actually right inital reports had him out till the WC my bad....

Anyway my point is and always was to write off a non injury prone player after half a season seems very rushed... even when he s 30.

Lets wait as long as possible and see how low chelsea is willing to go and who else is available.

edit:

Ironically lukakus return to Chelsea is probably the worst return in history of football. Coach did not want him p,ayed bad and was begging to get out after 6 months and he came at a huuge price.

we will assess him at the end of the season, based on his contributions, price, medical reports, etc. Simple as that. Anyone who wants to "punish" him based on injuries is an idiot, its as simple as evaluating the situation at the end of the year. Anyone who wants to sign him now is just fanboying (though I dont think anyone is advocating for that)

If Chelsea are willing to give him away for free and Lukaku plays for minimum wage for 1 year to compensate (like Coco did back in the day?) then we'd be idiots to say no. If they want to recuperate 70+mil, then we'd be idiots to say yes.

Yeah, but let's not go to extremes. Neither of these will happen.

The issue will be most probably will we replicate the loan deal with the same terms.

And these injuries do not help the replicate scenario. The new injury was a different to the one he just healed from?

Not sure re the injury situation

If there's evidence that he's sensi'd himself somehow, then yeah, we probably dont want to take him. But lets just cross that bridge at the end of the season, he's had some bad luck with injuries and I'm sure he's super frustrated with it.

In any new loan deal, on the basis of availability this season, I'd expect us to substantially reduce the loan fee. His general market worth will be dropping quickly atm, so its not unreasonable that we pay less and Chelsea recover less. That's the risk you take in loaning rather than selling an asset
