Fabrizio Biasin:

I would go with that line:

“I think there’s a locker room problem to be solved even if it has to be done the hard way,”

This season the players are always arguing during the games. Apparently Inzaghi has lost the locker room.

So, he has 1 month or until the world cup to turn it around and the next games are against Roma and 2x Barca.
Well,good luck Limone :D

Btw, i'm not rooting for him anymore, he's a sympathetic guy, but totally lost his mind at Inter.

You don't "lose the locker room" you lose the respect from the player.

How and why you lose their respect is a broad topic. But he did. And he needs to leave.

I mean it’s not like endlessly sacking coaches is a good idea either. It’s not looking good but I would give Inzaghi at least October to do what needs to be done.
After the international break we're going to have a game every 3 days till middle November. If you don't do it now then you need to wait till World Cup break hoping he has turned things around by then.

Definitely wait till the World Cup break. Which coach WHO IS AVAILABLE, can do better than Inzaghi at this point? It's not like new coach can train his methods with the squad, all the core members are with their national teams. It would be an enormous risk to hire anyone now.

If it doesn't work with Inzaghi and it's completely end of a road for him, we can sack him during the big break. There the new guy will have 1.5 months and with a bigger crop of players.

TBH so far the only game I truly think it was on him tactical-wise was Udinese.
I watched the whole game after, after the first goal up till 30 mins basically the first 2 subs, it was a tactical error, and he also didn't coach them well enough before game to playout from the back like that. After that he put some targets up front for long ball, hence creating back the space at the back a bit, but the defense set up was still horrible, and the reasons we weren't losing till de Vrij came in was Acerbi surprisingly played well, and we got a bit lucky.
In short that game he got outcoached in so many levels, but again Udinese had a great start this season so far, and I would contribute it mainly to Sottil (Reminds me a bit of Josh Brolin).

In terms of "losing the locker room", I would say it is the Mercato, and Sunning and management wrongdoing mostly, but of course a spectacular coach can keep the team spirit floating in these extreme circumstances, that one could argue, but this one is quite not the typical crisis thing, it is more of club is treating you a saleable object than the club is broke, like you can't motivate the player when your boss is yelling they don't value the player (or they value some money more), and want to get rid of them.

At this point I am not even sure if getting a new coach can motivate the team, maybe? cause grass is greener on the other side, at least we should have some honeymoon period, but it won't fix the underlying problems.

Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is ready to introduce some tactical tweaks to the team for the return from the international break, with more of an emphasis on defending deep and counterattacking.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri will not deviate from his customary 3-5-2 formation but that he wants to make the team more solid at the back and get the best out of Romelu Lukaku and Robin Gosens’s prowess playing in transition.

Inzaghi has tended to set the team up with a high defensive line and an aggressive press this season, which he had also done last campaign, but this time around it has been much less effective as the team have shipped eleven goals from just seven matches in Serie A.

Accordingly, the coach is ready to drop the defensive line a few meters to guarantee greater compactness and protection for the defenders.

To compensate for the diminished attacking presence that this will cause, the coach believes that he can rely on the qualities of Lukaku and Gosens in attacking open space in behind, something that was not exploited in the first few weeks of the campaign, particularly with the Belgian injured.

Meanwhile, the coach is ready to start handing midfielder Kristjan Asllani more of a role in the team starting with filling in for the suspended Marcelo Brozovic against Roma, and also plans to make Francesco Acerbi the first choice over Stefan de Vrij at the centre of the back three.

All good news!

It only takes 10 abysmal games into the season to make him realize something we worried about before the season started. We already lamented about the lack of speed since the last season yet Inzaghi keeps insisting on a suicidal high defensive line. And I'm not convinced about the counterattack approach. It could work since more teams are pressing high against us, but is he only relying on Lukaku to sprint alone while the others cannot keep up with him?

Gazzetta dello Sport: Even after the arrival of Lukaku, Dybala was still a possibility but a sale was needed (on top of Sanchez exit). There was interest from EPL for Correa but Inzaghi blocked his exit as he had doubts about Dybala's fitness.

There was interest from Newcastle iirc but the player didn't really want to move.

GdS knows how to push the buttons of Interesti. Don't bite.

Exactly, leaving some key information out you can make narratives of your liking.

GdS are what they are. We know that. Never say never with coaches and their stubbornness but the report is probably bs.

There's something interesting in this though.

Since yesterday there have been two reports about basically the most important decisions in mercato, Gosens and the loss of Dybala, that conveniently take the blame from management and pass it on Inzaghi.

It feels like to me they're preparing the ground. It probably won't happen now but Inzaghi is anything but safe.

I would take all these GdS reports with a grain of salt.

It could indeed be groundwork, setting the narrative. Maybe "leaked" by the management so if they end up sacking the coach in November (or worst case, October), there are enough evidence to make it seem like a reasonable decision and not a rushed one.

It could also be true. But I'm not gonna base my opinions on these reports.

GdS was always a joke. Less than 1% reliable.
