Gattuso is a decent coach, but I doubt he will be interested for the job, considering his Milan past.
Laughs in Conte

Too early for this discussion.

End of season is probably the earliest we discuss this unless everything falls apart before the World Cup.

Only way we sack Simone is if he barely makes Top 4, with no continental advancement (even if it's just Europa League) and a bad showing at the Coppa.

I trust that Simone will deliver in the cup and the top 4 will be safe, but we'll struggle to compete for the Scudetto, especially if any rival team manages to get serious about it. I think that'd be Juventus and it'd be Milan who will be chasing them, not us. Unless things change.

In football at the moment there are two dominant "schools" now, and the Italian one has been dissolved by its own accord for no reason. Nothing about being outdated, it was just a decision that the teams collectively took and they're now a hybrid system rather than one that focuses on its strengths.

We have the German school, with its high pressing and full intensity.
We have the Spanish school with his highly technical approach that smothers teams with possession.

Obviously this is not set in stone but they are the generic schools of football that dominate today. You still have high pressing in Spain despite dominant possession.
One is highlighted by Jurgen Klopp and the ideal is highlighted by Josep Guardiola.

Getting a coach of that school would be beneficial if that's the direction we want to go for but it takes a lot more.

Teams like Bologna, Atalanta, Torino and Verona are very to extremely high pressing teams. Italian clubs in general utilize high pressing to a larger degree than the PL or Ligue 1, but it doesn't really suit the teams in Europe because of the way these teams are preparing against a lot of their competition who aren't willing to press high and prefer to sit back.

We have to decide which approach is best suited for us. I'd go with a German coach, directly to the source. The Spanish model needs a special breed of players that are extremely capable on the ball.

Ivan Juric has done a great job in his last two jobs and he should be a candidate, but I'm not confident with us taking that risk. We're not a good place to elevate a coach's level. We need something ready.

The option of Simeone is ideal. We are a team that is driven by grit and nothing enforces it more than Cholo. I'd still welcome Mourinho back as I think it's established by now.
These are remnants of the Italian school, but with a more conservative approach due to the type of football the opposition now has.

But if we want to take a jump to "modern football", we need to decide between Germany and Spain and stay the course.
Good post but it overlooks two factors.

1) We can't afford a ready top coach. We can obviously rule out the absolute top (Klopp, Guardiola, Simeone, Zidane) but i don't think we can afford even a bit lower level like Tuchel, Flick, Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique (not sure Enrique deserves to be on this tier but anyway). We need to move to a step lower to find coaches from those schools we could afford. We talk about either old established coaches who will never reach top level like Valverde or Pellegrini or younger coaches who are now bulding their name like Baumgart, Glasner, Alguasil, Marcelino, Coudet. The problem is these guys are as much of a gamble as Juric and Italiano and i don't think Italian clubs, (from ownerships, fans to media), have the mentality to give time to a foreigner who isn't already an established coach. Especially the media are very critical whenever a club goes against the norm and hires an outsider. So the whole organization needs to be ready to support such a hiring and i have my doubts if they're willing to do it.

2) I think our management is too focused on Serie A to hire an outsider. When Conte left we seriously considered only 3 coaches: Allegri, Inzaghi and Sarri. All Italians. Even Marotta admitted they were only looking for an Italian coach. Since Mourinho left the only outsider we have hired is Benitez (i don't count De Boer as he was Kia) and in the previous decade there were only Cuper and Mourinho. I think it's very unlikely they would go for an outsider.

Tuchel probably be available soon

We need a coach who can win with his own roster and limited resources. Tuchel has spent how much in his time at Chelsea? Dortmund coach maybe? but potentially they look good because their management finds the best youth prospects.

It will probably be Pochettino tho his stock has tanked because of PSG. Zidane is also available but we can't pay his wages nor will he probably want to coach us as we lack title ambition + Juve Link.

Simeone is a top coach? On the same level as Mourinho, Pep, Ancelotti, Klopp, Flick?

Naaaaah, they can keep him

Tuchel in 😈
If only we had a little bit of money. He is not even that high of an earner for this era of football. But our nonexistent transfer budget blocks it.

Moratti would've made this move, I think.

Don't have one.
Tuchel in 😈
That would be a great coach to make a reset and start all over again, and you can actually have trust in him because he is proven on the highest level. But that's never gonna happen, no coach with any kind of serious reputation will come to work in this environment.

Honestly the only decent name on the list is Poch and i have many reservations about him.

Loco Bielsa at pazza Inter would send all of us in an asylum. 😀

The rest aren't even good enough to replace Mihajlovic at Bologna.

Yeah Tuchel seems to struggle to keep good mood in the teams he manage?

Pochettino would also need wingers we don’t have and I’m not that convinced he has what it takes to be at top club same as Limone?

I think Bielsa would be wild card? He is pretty flexible with his tactics (used 3-3-1-3 and 4-5-1 tactics), but I’m not sure our slow defenders can play high pressing game? Also with crazy fitness demands it would be short term solution (1-2 years, max 3 years). I have noticed his teams also struggle with injuries, so it might be something to do with training methods and playing style? But I think our group of players would have good response to this kind of coach? They followed Conte and worked hard under him... I also have a feeling he always thrive as a underdog and likes a take a challenge? I don’t know might be awsome or might be total disaster

Juric might be most realistic solution? He uses 3backline so no total revamp would be needed? I think with Lukaku, Dzeko, Lautaro, Correa, Mkhitaryan, Hakan, Carboni, we would have nice depth to his 3-4-2-1 system. Of course he has not been tested at the highest level, but something about his personality tells me, he might have what it takes to lead a top team? I think he would also have pretty low wages so it would compensate Limone wages if he got the boot. But would this be enough to get our leaky defence fixed? I think Juric would also be willing to lose few starters and use what we give him? Next summer we still need to sell at least one starter?

I would like to see someone who use 4-4-2 diamond and it would suit to our current team best and I think it would give us more balance? Maybe only Bastoni and Gosens might not be ideal to this tactic, but they might be sold for a good price and be replaced? That way we would also solve some of our finacial problems too. But there are not many coaches who have used to that system… Mourinho and Allegri comes to mind, but both are currently unavailable and Mourinho also seems to have lost his hunger for trophys and age has got him, also Allegri seems like he don’t really have a good thing going! With our financial situation and team we have, we should forget any CL dreams and just focus for winning the Scudetto and get easier CL croup next year.

Simeone is just a dream, so I think we will continue with Inzaghi at least till january? We will have long break at winter so it might be good time to change a coach?

De Zerbi would be interesting but we have to switch the system so it will not work out.

Juric is the most realistic option imo in terms of style and system. But I would only give him a contract till next summer.

You guys are nuts.

We aren't going to sack Inzaghi unless there's some complete meltdown and we risk making top4.

Also Juric has a contract till 2024 and he's at Torino. You guys think we can sign him from Cairo after this summer in the middle of the season?

You just found out? :D

I also don't think we are going to sack Inzaghi but you have to admit that the way the team is playing is very worrying. If they continue to play like this it might just happen. And I don't think we will be able to sign him so this post was all just speculation. Thanks for pointing that out.
