Obviously I get the motivation for a fan to defend their club especially in a "hostile" environment, but you sound like a loony right now.

I am critical of them when it is well placed, here or anywhere. But in the case of what is happening with Laporta atm, I can only applaud what he has been doing - I dreamt of him executing a turnaround like this but it is exceeding my expectations already

Club is in a financial mess but it is on the right course now with proper leadership for sporting & financial decisions + a squad cules can be excited about going forward. What's not to like?

And for the record, I called De Jong's sale from last summer. It was going to be an inevitability even before Leo was unable to be resigned - between the sporting & financial implications, I couldn't see a reason for him to continue. Personally, I have nothing against the player - I think he is brilliant and deserves success & a big salary, just not at the expense of my hurting club

I thought Dybala went to Roma?

Nevertheless I read the CR to Atletico rumour was erroneous

FDJ is an inherited problem in terms of exorbitant wages, much of which has been deferred but none of it reduced compared to others including Messi. From there you can decide what is reprehensible, players holding a club over the barrel for wages they cannot afford despite a clown President signing him to it or accept being sold so that he can get the wages he wants elsewhere
And since when is that the problem of the players? The club acted like the money grows on trees. It is not and now they have to face the problems. This isn't a problem of FDJ. The club should pay them what they agreed on. What Barcelona is doing right now is f*ckin antisocial. They can't decide by themself they won't pay FDJ the money they owe him just because they don't have the money.

What kind of precedent are you setting? And since when are players holding the club over the barrel? It's not their problem Barca was stupid enough to pay wages they can't afford. And now they have to bleed imo. I imagine you want to get your salary even if your company isn't profitable? I don't think you would be okay if your company tells you you have to work for 50% of your agreed salary.

Have I blamed the player? I blame Bartomeu which cannot make it Laporta's fault - of course he is entitled as well to do what he can to shed himself of a poor contract

Different administration, different approach - irresponsible management era is over

You talking about players holding the barrel over the club?

He is entitled to pay the wages they agreed on. You can't just stop paying because you took over and don't agree on the contracts that were agreed before your arrival. They treated Koeman just as bad as FDJ. The so called gracious club Barceona is falling down hard imo.

When the majority of the players in a club accept not just wage deferrals but lowering of those wages then no, I don't want a player who refuses to recognize the club is in a bind because of previous mismanagement. Yes, he can be entitled to it just as much as the club is entitled to help him to the exit

Koeman got a 13M termination clause, yet another preposterously contracted term by Bartomeu. He is an absolute cancer

But Barcelona can of course afford De Jong's salary. It's not about that. It's just that they don't want to pay him that salary anymore. There's a clear distinction.

On balance, affording it and willing to do so due to the wage imbalance in terms of FFP and what he can provide sporting wise? The distinction is that there is only one outcome, he will exit

Anyone who can give some information about Bassey from Rangers and Conceicao? Yes son of the famous Conceicao.

Both will be signed by Ajax in the coming days. I don't know anything about both. I have my doubts about Bassey as the successor of Lisandro Martinez. He is a good defender I guess but I don't know how his ball playing skills. Conceicao will be a skillful winger I think?
