I would agree with you if we owned Lukaku. But we don't. It's just one year loan. We chose lease over own. Club keeps losing money, we need to make 60m from sales and yet we committed to 20m for just one season of Lukaku. You can't rationalize it from a financial point of view. If Chelsea don't agree to a loan extension next summer we are going to have a big problem. It looks very shortsighted to me.
I would rather lease an reliable short term player than tied to injury prone player with heavy wage. But I half agree though if we can get Dybala for 4,5 M/year then it is too good opportunity to be passed.

What a disaster missing on a player like Dybala on that salary. Can't wait for this Mercato to be over and just start the goddamn season

There are not many sights in life as funny, sarcastic, rageful and sad as FIF in full melt-down mode.
And yet we get to see one every summer :D

This mercato has gone from a possible 8 to a 4 if we are lucky. Even lower if Skriniar also goes.

This mercato is 1/10 so far. Lost Perisic who was our best player, brought back on a loan Lukaku who is totally out of form and total risk without Cunte, brought fkn Mikhitaryan, lost Dybala,Bremer... Asslanni,Bellanova, wtf we are Genoa now? Horrific stuff.

Losing Dybala and Bremer was always becoming more and more likely to happen the longer it would take to get rid of Sanchez/dzeko/Corea and sell Skriniar for a proper price. Inter are paying the price for getting a finished Dzeko and a completely useless Corea last summer, if they had spent the total amount (transfer+salary) of those two on one single proper forward last summer (and used a cheap loan or youngster as 4th forward), they would be in a better spot now to have signed Dybala.

Im not quite sure why some people mention the Lukaku deal as some kinda block for any of the above though. There is absolutely no way Marotta would have signed Dybala without getting rid of Sanchez first, regardless of Lukaku. Lukaku was a sudden unique opportunity to replace useless geriatric Dzeko.

People should be happy Lukaku was signed for a year atleast, Dybala would still be a Roma player today if Lukaku hadnt joined, since Inter have failed to get rid of Sanchez/others. Getting Lukaku back for a fairly low fee, for a role thats far more needed than the one Dybala occupies was too good to let pass. Signing Dybala with the risk of not getting Sanchez/dzeko out is too risky.

Losing Bremer is sad, especially since Skriniar will likely be sold anyways and then some midtable donkey like Milenkovic will be signed.

Rough times ahead for Inter, both in attack and defense. But the midfield looks good atleast, Aslani and Mhki will be decent upgrades. Inters season will rise or fall depending on if Lautaro and Lukaku can play atleast 85% of all matches. The backup forwards are a disaster tbh, Dzeko is so finished its not even funny and Corea in all honestly is a midtable table player at best.

I don't agree with your logic. We could have secured Dybala for less money this year than we are paying for Lukaku.

It might very well be a stylistic choice based on the demands of Inzaghi, but it's still a choice.

The logic is that Inter were never going to sign another second striker in their current economic environment, while they already have 3 of them on contract (lautaro, Sanchez, Corea). Its too big a risk, unless they get rid of some of them, especially for a player like Dybala, who has a fairly bad consistency/injury record.

Regardless of Lukaku, there is no way Dybala would have been signed before atleast one of these players were out of the team.

Lukaku was a unique chance to get a huge upgrade over the geriatric Dzeko and with a Dzeko being the only real physical striker, this is a very different scenario than signing Dybala, with much less risk of injury issues as well.

In one dat we blew our whole mercato… Dybala and Bremer, who seemed to be ours to Roma and Rube… Horrific day
Tbh there were strong doubts about Dybala ever since we signed Lukaku. There were no reports linking him with Inter anymore, Marotta said in pre season presentation Dybala was a market opportunity but at the moment attack was complete and Inzaghi said after Monaco he was happy with his forwards and we should strengthen elsewhere.

We were just in denial as we didn't want to believe we could lose Dybala to Roma out of all teams.

I don't even know where too start anymore but imo our current state (on financial area and sports area) started past year. A lot of fuck-ups have been made, for whatever reason, but it's really bad.

- We sold Hakimi what afterwards wasn't necessary. We replaced him nicely with Dumfries (although the quality difference is still night and day) but only made 67 million (50 million profit minus Dumfries), while we owned Madrid also a big sum for this transfer.
- We sold Lukaku who's sale was more than enough to make the profit we apperently needed to make.
- We replaced Lukaku with Dzeko (who would be just fine as a vice Lukaku but not as a starter) and Correa (who should never been the one we put our limited money at).
- We failed to get a proper Lukaku replacement (Vlahovic should have been the one), what costs us the Scudetto in the end.
- Because we got Correa last year, there was no room for Dybala this year (who is the far better player, although him and Correa are a bit the same in style)
- Because we have Dzeko and Alexis on these fat contracts, we don't have budget to sign another proper forward. On top of that we pay almost 18 million for one year of Lukaku.
- We are in a very difficult sitiuation regarding Skriniar and De Vrij, because they have only one year left on their contract. On top of that we are risking to loose both of them on a free, or Skrinair on a reduced price and we're looking the loose Bremer to fucking Jube.

I mean we could have done so many things different over the past year. We had the future up to grab, and we lost it all in one fucking year.... I mean if we did what we had to do we could see Bremer, Hakimi, Vlahovic and Dybala (still) play in our team.

Are we so fucking inept that we’re incapable of signing a big name unless they literally hire a lawyer to run the negotiation for us?
