I don't think anyone has a problem with a club contacting a player's agent before dealing with his club. They are obviously informal and are only done to see whether there are possibilities for the player agreeing to a move. If the player isn't interested or the general demands for wages etc are...

No one should force a player of another club to get a transfer request. I really hope that Ferguson never does this, and also hope that the Sneijder dealings is not just an exception from what he normally does?
