Well, if most people here realize this, it is very strange that they still continue to talk about our formation. We have changed many formations over the past 16 months under Benitez, Leonardo and Gasperini, and we have seen no real improvement. The coach and the formation are not our problem.

No the formation is a problem along with the way it is used inside the field. The good coach will see his players ability and find the suitable formation to fit them.
We have a good central defenders Lucio, Samuel, Ranocchia and Chivue can play as well, Left & Right Back we have Zanetti, Maicon, Jonathan and Nagatomo.
with these options we can maintain excellent defense.

In the midfield and attack we have many options including young players who must given the chance to proof them self. What we need is a good formation and plan to get the best of them.

So I don't expect to get beaten by Novara and say Ok we have an aging squad. AGING mean to me a lot of injuries, bad fitness and slowness.
And I don't see that in most of our aging squad. Well lets see who are our first team choice old players (32 and above):
Zanetti (38), Lucio (33), Samuel (33), Stankovic (32), Milito (32), Forlan (32). Not all of them shows aging problem like Zanetti and Lucio is still working hard, also Forlan looks in good shape as well.

We have also good young players like Obi, Alvares, Coutinho, Poli and Castaignos. All of them in the 19 and early 20's, they need some confidence and opportunity.

IMO if you mix the whole team together you can get something strong and solid.

I agree whith you that it is big advantage for a coach if he has serie a experience, off cource!
But Mourinho didn´t have serie a experience and i don´t want to compare Van Gaal to Mourinho. But i think Van Gaal would have been good choice for a coach. Because i don´t think its all about tactics and high defence line, but also our players attitude and workrate in the field. I think now what we need is solid coach who has proven himself and someone who has some balls to work whith our star players and that is what Ranieri misses.

And i have always liked how Van Gaal gives young players chance. Cant see Ranieri do the same.

I am not against someone with no Seria A experience, actually I have voted for Dunga to take the coaching seat, but I put tactical approach as a first priority since Van Gaal play an attacking football, which is not suitable for us in the current moment, still Van Gaal IMO is a great coach but not for us in this time.

Actually, it does look bad.

We have already sacked the coach that was winning titles with Cuper's Valencia team. :D

Stupid hire. He might get Inter back into the top3-5 area, but he does nothing to help this team develop for the future. Essentially the sell of Eto'o has been a waste as the players purchased from that cash are not going to see the pitch. The youth is going to sit on the sidelines. A completely unorganized plan by Moratti and Co...should have fucking hired Delio Rossi in June if this was the plan.

I thought, going into the summer, that there was an actual plan in place to fully develop youth by playing an attractive, attacking style of football. In hindsight, the summer was a complete waste of time, the mercato was an epic fail, and now were down points at a time when Serie A is starting to get more competitive...fucking fail.

Welcome Claudio.

If he shows the players respect, they will reciprocate. If he plays them in the correct positions they will be successful. Motivation shouldn't be a problem- half the country has written Inter off already and most of Europe is laughing at us. I believe his first interview suggests he is keen to use the "prove everyone wrong" angle that was successful under Mou.

I think we need to accept that there was no other coach with experience who could come in at short notice. There's also no one who has more experience at joining a club mid-season and rescuing them, so we should be grateful. The contract length isn't an issue, he's basically just taken over what Gasp had. Since Gasp rescinded with no payout, we aren't really losing extra cash and can still look for a quality coach if need be.

For all those people pointing to him as a nearly man, keep in mind that he achieved these results with squads that were never regarded as the strongest in the league. Chelsea were up against the Invincibles (not to mention he had about 8 new players), while Juventus and Roma (aside from being cursed) came up against us in our prime. If we play to our strengths, we are close to the best squad in the country. Maybe this will be Ranieri's opportunity to break his duck.

At the moment I'm resigned to it; I looked at the at the table and we are in the RELEGATION places, we need to get out. If Ranieri can save us I will be grateful despite him not being the greatest. The Scudetto isn't even in my mind at this point, I just want a footing in the table.

There's never any legit and concrete plans from Inter. It's completely chaotic and dependent on how the wind blows. It's always been that way barring the somewhat slight stability when Mancio and Mourinho were in charge. At this point in time with an old-ass squad and a mediocre coach who isn't exactly the motivational figure we need, I'll consider it a huge success if we finish in the top 3.

L&C, I like your post but don't necessarily agree with it.

After Zola braced my EPL-biased sports channels, I grew affection for Chelsea...trying to watch them constantly. When CR took over and then Abro came in....I could not believe how un-organised CR was.

Mourinho came in and all of a sudden proved that money alone does not buy you success...but also a brilliant coach, motivator and tactician.

At this point you could best believe Rainieri had ill feelings toward Mourinho. Then the whole Serie A saga happened and the ill-feeling became even more potent.

We ALREADY know what happens when you put in a coach that Mourinho has beef with. They come in and want to do their own thing so they don't get caught in his shadow, seeing how much they despise him.

I am scared. I already have images of Rainier on the touchline hand on his chin, looking stressed and clueless as to why the squad is falling apart around him, losing to fucking Trabzonspor at home.

You reiterated that we were hard pressed to find anyone with experience. I agree. But is that exactly what we are looking for? Or do we just need someone who knows that this team already has a tried and tested formula. Someone who will WANT to copy Mourinhos style of success instead of having an ego to big .

the problem with this is we cant keep playing mous style mou is mou there will never be someone like him to play his style like he did we can only bring in someone with a similar style this is a new inter that has to find its own style our aging players are going through transition

by chance do you have the english translated video?:)

I wish. Inter's channel would have a zillion more viewers if there was subtitles in English. Even I don't understand it. I can only speak Spanish and Englis :palm:

I dont agree with that at all you have to be out of your mind to think that this is the same squad that mourinho had. If he plays the same way mou did and gets results its all becuase of ranieri not mou, this team has gone through enough damage, players etc to fully declare that our team is in pure chaos.
