People is very angry here, i can understand people around the world see Spain as a calm country who doesn't really care about what is happening, but we finally woke up, there are 2 parties... supposedly one is left wing and other right wing but both are the same, and both "work" together, there is no other choices and we can't stand this anymore, there is no job and they are stealing the money from us, how come one of these guys win so much money doing the work they do? the ones who go to prison are out in 2 years, it's ridiculous.
this movement is apolitical, people only want justice.

there are plenty of videos on youtube. In Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia and more cities... millions of young and not so young people are in the streets right now fighting for they're rights.

Funny....did this even make the news?

Protests in Spain...no biggie.
Protesters in France, killed by their own army...No biggie.
Protests in the Syria, spurred on by outside mercenaries killing people and media blame the government for 'squashing' peaceful protests.

Alex....will be very hard for this topic not to get into political discussions....

You mean the news here or outside? outside i have no idea, here 4 sure and everyone is talking about that.
There is no politic subforum here so.. whats the problem hehe. The main reason to open this topic is to let know people around the world that Spain woke up like Greece and France, it will take a lot of years for a change but you have to start someday. Btw, i don't think any government of any country has 2 possible presidents like the ones we have, 2 guys who everyone make fun of them because they don't even know how to speak correctly.

Yes it is forbidden. But nobody here is discussing politics, are we?

We are just reading about what's happening. There is no debate, nobody telling us about their views. Seriously Irriducibli88, you seem to try and look for trouble everywhere which is bad, because when you talk football you actually know what you are on about.

Also it doesnt mean we arent monitoring the forum. If we feel this thread is going out of line, then it will be closed. Thats what WE do. We have a procedure to do things about it and a lot of it is discretionary stuff. I hope you understand.

LOL, look at this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibir-3Y9ALQ&feature=player_embedded in the media they are puting images from greece saying it's spain hahahaha it's completely manipulated. It's like Orwell's 1984.
Also infiltrated cops try to create bad reputation for this movement, they dress up like normal people and create violence, after, the media say that the movement is dangerous and violent.

Alex, how bad are the protests? What areas are affected? Are the public transports, shops, etc etc shut down?

I plan to go to Barcelona & Valencia in early September. Should I be changing my plans?

Thanks

The areas affected atleast in Barcelona is all the area of the centre of the city, start of Ramblas, Plaza Cataluña, Urquinaona, there are some hotels there, but in case your hotel is there i don't think you really should care. In any case if you get a hotel in any other area there is no problem, because people only go there for manifestations.
