I don't ever remember a coach that make every decision right about signing his favored players. Correa was a mistake, but IIRC he wasn't the club or Inzaghi's first choice at the time.

Alright, I've put a lot of thought into this and found the appropriate solution.

If we sack Inzaghi, we'll have to pay his salary anyway. So let's employ BOTH Inzaghi and Conte. Conte is responsible for managing the league matches. Inzaghi manages the Coppa and UCL matches. We can morph the two of them together and have a singular competent manager.

There's always Walter Zenga. What is Serse Cosmi doing these days? :D

Absolutely forgot about Zenga. He used to be my childhood idol and actually turned into a good coach, really thought he would end up as Inter coach a couple years ago.

Zenga made the mistake of trying his luck abroad. Some was good, some wasn't. You cannot really go to unfamiliar areas and expect to be able to do the same things. You won't be judged based on circumstances either at home, but only based on results.

Had Zenga stayed in Italy he could have ended up with the Inter job at some point and who knows, maybe he'd be our Guardiola.

But it makes no sense to offer him a job now unless it's some primavera position or the women's team.

Yeah at this point he is nowhere on the radar for anything outside of saudi or chinese clubs if even that.
He did look like a good coach and before Catania he won titles in Romania and Serbia and also beat the likes of Valencia in Europe. That was like nearly 20 years ago though when he was like 40.

Italian Journalist Fabrizio Biasin: “Champions League Clash With Porto Will Be Decisive For Simone Inzaghi At Inter Milan”

Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin feels that Inter coach Simone Inzaghi could well be playing for his future in this evening’s Champions League round of sixteen second leg against Porto.

Writing in his column for Italian broadcaster SportItalia, Biasin suggested that this evening’s match at the Estadio do Dragao could prove to be a turning point for a coach who has looked embattled and under-fire at points throughout the season.

Despite the fact that Inzaghi signed a contract extension with Inter just last summer, which took the former Lazio coach’s deal with the Nerazzurri to the end of June 2023, the way that the season has unfolded has raised doubts about whether or not he will see out the full duration.

Friday’s Serie A defeat away to Spezia was only the latest match which saw fresh uncertainty and another wave of criticism directed at the job that the 46-year-old has been doing in charge of Inter.

This evening’s match against Porto could well be an opportunity to decisively respond to these doubts and criticisms.

However, on the other hand, it could be a match that finally pushes the club in the direction of replacing Inzaghi at the end of the season.

“This evening’s match is no laughing matter for Inter, because practically everything is at stake for them,” Biasin writes.

“It’s not just about the sporting glory, it would also mean their ‘cousins’ Milan not getting to rub it in their faces that they failed to go as far in the competition.”

“Moreover, at stake is prize money worth €20 million, which would be virtually priceless given the club’s financial situation,” Biasin notes.

“It also means trying to keep the media circus at bay after last week’s embarrassing defeat in La Spezia,” he goes on.

“Yes, this could be the decisive match for Inter, and above all, for Inzaghi, who has looked on the edge for some time, and could well face the final push here.”

Speculative. If we go out to Porto and crash out of the Coppa, Inzaghi would probably still keep his job if we finish comfortably in CL places

Biasin doesn't speculate. He announces.

I had little doubt on him delivering this game and if we avoid City, Madrid, Chelsea and Bayern we will make the Semis.
