I think the point of the wages including amortisation is that it is the total cost of ownership of the squad - wages vs amortisation is actually kinda irrelevant in some ways (as you see with, for example, bosman signings). The total cost of ownership of a player is what matters
May I add a depends... If your in a cash crunch/liquidity crisis the wages matter a lot more than non cash expenses...
If on the other hand you just looking at breakeven/ profits than total costs matter more...

In our situation i m no sure which metric is more relevant ATM....

Yeah, I agree, that being said with the way payment plans are scheduled typically in football, amortisation does look quite a bit like your cashflow in some ways anyway

2nd feels more appropriate but we aren't really safe with cash flow

Anybody know how far are we to getting that self-financing goal Zhang made back in the day?

How much losses we are going to make this season?

I've not seen any forecasts or speculation yet, but I'd guess we're probably still at least -100m on a baseline expenditure basis, if not more. Hurt, obviously, substantially by Digital Bits. I hope we have some good progress in the CL this year - even one more stage extra will make a big difference, and Porto is probably the best shot we've had for a while.

If we get 0 € from DigitalBits, that means -25-26m€ to our result for this season. Absolutely unacceptable BS. I don't get it why aren't we doing anything for this. We keep using their logo but ain't getting anything for that. Incredible stuff. Roma is getting their money normally.

Winning Porto and getting to quarters means extra 10m€ (+ ticket revenue from one extra home match which is I believe around 5m€)

How could we be - 100 again? Absolutely bonkers if that's the case. How are we even surviving
We might be even more. We might get less revenue this season ( as we did less revenue in 21/22 compared to 20/21), specially as we seem to be getting NADA from our main sponsor.

theres a bunch of write downs in last season's figures, and we are reducing amortisation/wage costs, but probably not enough that its offset by the loss of sponsorship (for example).

Can you guys see any change that can we ever get to that target (self-financing) and witch actions we should be making to get there?

Do you guys see it would be better overhaul most of the squad with a new coach and start ”new project” witch includes younger players with lower wages or continue the path we are in currently or something else?

I hope we get new owners, but I don’t think new owners will be any different or they need to be some Arabs, witch I see is really unrealistic as this league is in really bad place.

I think our lawyers is doing what they can and I think we need go to court? We are currently respecting our end of the deal and digitabits breaking theirs, so we haven’t done any violation to the contract.

correct, the question is whether they have any assets worth us recovering sadly.

Honestly, its hard to say.

1 - Youd need to go over our current finances with a fine tooth comb to get an accurate answer
2 - Self-financing is a question of ambition, and ability to deliver against that ambition. For example, its much easier to self finance if you expect to win the CL every year - so its a balance of risk/probability.

Realistically, I'd speculate to achieve self-financing we'd need the new stadium, the new (good) shirt sponsor, a better kit sponsor, a reduction in our amortisation/wage bills, and a real push on trying to develop more cheaper-basis players (like Milan) who we can fill out the first team with. Consistent CL quarter finals, for example, would help a lot too.

That's just the Inter side - the league as a whole needs to be much, much better. Like 2-3x probably more than it does at the moment, in terms of international pull.

You can't just pull the shirt sponsor you need to follow the proper legal procedures. Canceling such a deal even when the other party is the one who has broken the deal takes a while.
