"Skriniar said publicly in the summer that fans should chill because he ain’t going anywhere. Hence we all thought he has a word and we considered the issue solve. It seems that he always wanted the move and that he tricked everyone here to think he stays. He knew our financial situation before the negotiations.

He was a huge player for us and I will forever remember the good he did for us in the past. I wish he wouldn’t have been a lier though."

well a 10-12 million signing bonus makes it easy to change your mind. He will also be playing with arguably the best player of all time and the current best player in the World as well as the future best player in Paris

Still, it's on Marotta (or Zhang). You put a contract in front of him during the summer and tell him to sign it or the GTFO. If he accepted, situation solved. If he didn't, you have 50M from PSG.

But inter dont want to raise his salary (from extending the contract) until the last minute of his low salary current contract, yes inter are that broke.. Yet have money to buy someone as useless as Correa

In club perspective yes it's a fuck up as you cannot let the situation end up like this.

Yet still Skriniar really fucked the club over here.

Two things can be true at the same time.

Or he had a change of mind. It's part of being a human.

It's part of being a human, but not a being a man. If he was a man, he would have stepped out and said that he has changed his mind, not to delay his answer and kept silent in order to get a fat bonus.

Actually Skriniar proved himself as a man who prioritize his family over anything by signing big bonus from PSG. Why should his family is going to suffer like his father who got bad treatment from his previous boss Zhang/Suning?

 If he was a man

Transgender Skriniar is at fault!

Seriously tho, except for big egos like CR, Costa or Lukaku, usually players don't announce they are leaving midseason. You don't know what kind of psychos fans are (Inter fans are able to throw scooters on the pitch), so you keep your cards close to you. I'm sure Inter and Skriniar talk about the contract, maybe not daily, but they do. And I'm totally okay with not knowing what is going on. If I knew that he is 100% leaving, it wouldn't make it any better for me.

Skriniar is probably gonna leave. I'm gonna miss him, but I don't think he is irreplacable in the long run. The biggest problem is that we don't really have any money.

What if Skriniar postponed the offer and preferred to let his contract run out to get a fatter bonus?

That was what it is.

Let me suffer same way with 6.5 mln net income per year, living in Milano. Dude, this is utter nonsense. You make it looks like his family will die in poverty without the PSG bonus.

Except he wouldn't live in Milano for very long because we would try to sell him again as early as next summer if he was to extend. And when this finally dawned on him, that there is no future for him at Inter he decided to go on his own terms.

Why is this so difficult to understand for so many?

Yes, and the funny part is, even in this hypothetical, "what should have happened" situation, Marotta would still have been fucking 12 months too late.

Don't have one.
Tunnel vision?
Zhang didn't have balls to do it, especially after the way we lost scudetto and fully knowing he won't invest almost none of that money to new signings. The pressure would have been too much, so he opted out, maybe even naively thinking skriniar will sign a new contract after a slightly better offer from us.

Meanwhile, skriniar probably made his mind as soon as he saw how much he will earn in paris, but didn't want to push the issue by publicly stating he wants out cos that would totally ruin his legacy here as a fan favorite.

And mgmt fault in all of this is that they needed to read a situation much better and take the role of a bad guy and sell him as soon as they saw he is bewitched by psg checkbook, which I think they must have seen at a certain point.

At least this is my theory of what happened, cos nobody knows for sure... Anyways, we made it so complicated for a club that is literally starving for money...

This is not true, because you make it looks like Inter was shopping only Skriniar around. With our current situation, everybody is on the market for the right price, without exceptions. And believe me, everyone from the squad is well aware with it. There is no need to pretend that they are offended. We received offers for Skrin and Bastoni. Bastoni refused to move, Skriniar and his agent didn't say a word, which means that had no problems with that. Skrinar said that he wants to stay and expect new contract to be presented to him after last season, and maybe because of that everyone thought that he wants and he will stay. If he was annoyed by the club's actions, he could have said it. If something has changed after the summer, he could have said it again. He kept quiet in order Inter do not have a time to react in the short winter window, because he wants the fat PSG bonus. This is the thing I don't approve and I don't like. I don't have any problems with his decision to leave, if he stated clearly.

He would live in Milano as long as he wish. A player cannot be transfer if he doesn`t agree. He was not push out in anyway. He was even made captain. We know very well who was pushed out. Icardi. He was relegated to the bench, he lost his number and everyone from Marotta til Conte said loud and clear, he is not in their plans. That`s means to be pushed out.
As @varmin says, everyone is for sale for the right price. And this is reality even at many clubs who didn`t have financial constraints.

And I don`t believe a second that Skriniar and his agent were not in contact last summer when PSG tried for him. And I am sure that PSG presented him all the variants: or transfer or free agent with a big bonus. He wants that fat bonus.
What annoy me it`s the belief that Inter somehow throw Skriniar in PSG arms.

Not only that. There are players and there will be who prefer to be free agents. In that moment they have all the cards in their hand. They could require bigger salary, bonuses and even the possibilty to find a bigger team.
There are also risk (a bad injury) or you end up like Dybala. Roma was not by any means the club the thought he will play a year ago.

Not true. Why Real, PSG, Chelsea, Bayern, City, Liverpool, United don't loose their stars if they don't want to? Even Barcelona who is financially broken will never put Pedri on market and nobody is even trying to make an offer.

Biasin said Inter would sell Skriniar now but player wants to stay in order not to lose signing on fee from PSG.
