Whatever Milan decides, I can’t hate on him. We all want him to say but what can you do? It’s my firm belief he would’ve extended his contract long ago if the club hadn’t fucked around with him so much. Players need to feel wanted and appreciated. Not thought of as disposable assets.

Another reason why Suning has to sell the club. Our best players won't stay. I'll be shocked if he signs. Won't hold anything against him if he leaves. He wants to win!!
Winning anything other than the Champions league with PSG is like winning a fight against a 3 year old kid.
Anyway, i am over this already and have zero care if he leaves or stays. He's not been performing great since Spalletti. He's also not good for this system we play at all, as he's too slow and he still didnt learn how to pass the ball with a normal touch.

Winning means not selling your best players every season and competing in all competitions. I still blame Suning with all the transfer rumors Milan has had to endure since the start of the season. I'd be rattled too if my bosses continuously fuck around. Enough is enough.

Suning has been a problem for years now. So, its expected to have trouble with buying or renewing players. I think everyone agrees that we need new owners. But i am also done wasting time with this Skriniar situation. He's been offered the max Inter can give. I just want to know the decission, so we can either search for 1 or 2 new CB's. Anyway, good luck to Marotta finding new defenders that are free.
All in all, we are fucked until someone buys this club. We can expect the same bullshit going on with Bastoni next year.

Have i said anything wrong? Is he slow? Yes. Is he a good passer? No. Has he been great since Spalletti left? No.
I'm sorry, but for a 3 man defensive system, i just don't think he's good enough.

He is great as central defender in back 3, but not so good as RCB. Anyway the problem here is that our management was overconfident that Skriniar will stay, and they have missed the chance to sell him for decent money. Zangs have also huge blame with this new policy of them, to renew the contracts in the last moment.

That wasn't their policy before Marotta.

That wasn't Marotta's policy when Znag had money.
You sure?

It's been his policy at Juventus as well.
Zhangs (perhaps due to Ausilio's pressing for lower amortization costs and potentially plusvalenza cases) were extending players we hardly wanted around by September/October.

Under Marotta we have delayed everything. All the time. Maybe the Zhangs hired him because that's also how they want to operate but it wasn't the case. And we've had 4 Suning periods.

1) early period of spending recklessly without planning. Which also cost us the FFP situation in the Europa League
2) prudency after the Settlement Agreement
3) return to spending big money
4) covid related period

Marotta belongs to period 3 and 4. Periods 1 and 2 were rather different under Suning when it came to keeping our players. And their availability in the market.

We extended Barella and Lautaro year ago, well before their last years kicked in. We extended Bastoni after the Scudetto, right before the last year kicked in.

There is no pattern. Your anti-Marotta bias is too transparent.

Unfortunately that's exactly how it is for us. That is because we cannot afford all the players we've acquired throughout the years. They've become more expensive in the market, they require more money because they are wanted by the market.

So for as long as we have Zhangs leading the way, this will be the modus operandi of this club. It's a bit like at Juve when Marotta was there. The player trading (selling and buying) was the way to go, Juve was a big seller also while they bought players too (I guess more inside Italy than abroad). That way they were able to keep themselves afloat financially.

These players were on rather junior deals so extending them had more to do with a reflection of their worth to the team rather than making sure they're not leaving on a Bosman.

It was also to prevent a cheap sale. Which ironically we did pursue before extending them. The sale part, not necessarily a cheap one.

It's a different situation from having a player in their prime, earning good money and asking for more. These guys weren't earning good money, including Bastoni.

But what's your point then? I have hard time getting how this is yet again all Marotta's fault.

wasn't inter do delayed contracts policy regarding to extend Icardi's contract before marotta co?
I Dont think i remember inter being so really late in extending their "important" player as far as the last year of the contract before.. Not like todays..
I dont even remembered does Brozovic contract are also extended the year his contract about to end or 1 year before..
I think Icardi also got extended the season before his contract is up
Maybe inter just doesnt think Perisic back there or Skriniar now as important as we the fans think of them..

I don't follow so close Juventus transfers, but I don't recall, they missed any important player for free when Marotta was there.

That's because they sold them before time.

Check how often and how long before contract expiry they extended contracts for anyone not named Buffon, Chiellini etc
But what's your point then? I have hard time getting how this is yet again all Marotta's fault.
I'm just saying that Marotta and current papa Zhang combined is a dangerous mix for Inter's hopes of keeping players around.

You're in denial if you believe Inter could keep their players around if Marotta was gone. Is Marotta known for selling players and reinvesting on new players? Sure. But that's not what Inter do and it isn't the reason Inter sell players. It isn't a matter of personnel. You could hire ANY director you want and the club would still be selling players. There's no other option when ownership demands a substantial amount of profit from transfers every summer for the club to stay afloat. We could raise 40m from Pinamonti and Casadei last summer but this was the exception. Inter aren't Ajax to expect expensive sales from their academy players every summer.

It's high time we all accepted that as long as Suning are around Inter will be a selling club regardless of the management.

We extended Barella and Lautaro year ago, well before their last years kicked in. We extended Bastoni after the Scudetto, right before the last year kicked in.

There was also an agreement with De Vrij for an extension. Raiola had confirmed so himself.
