A few millimeters decided their fate. Unreal showdown

A few mm are quite a lot in football though, you kick the ball a few mm off and your shot goes all the way to the corner flag.

cool picture, but without him on the pitch Japan actually plays 10X better.

Nagatomo wore them out with his endless running, so when the subs came on Spain was exhausted.

Fair or not, Spain really did the right thing here. They were going to play Croatia and Brazil to semifinal, now they have Morocco and Portugal likely. Not saying it's a walk in the park but it's definitely an easier path.

He said he might resign. Hasn't decided yet.
Guess it depends on the pundits in the press and the fans back home if they want him gone. Better to resign than run out of town riding backwards on a greased pig.

Spain did nothing of the sort. They arrogantly believed they would easily beat Japan. Got caught out and if Costa Rica had held on it would have been an utter embarrassed.

It didn't look like they did it intentionally.

I don't know man. I totally don't mean it was a match fixing or a pre-planned decision. Japan deserved to win. Spain just didn't care about equalizing. Their preference was more on finishing second than first.

Morocco >> Croatia. It’s not even close.

Morocco has been playing as good as I thought Canada would be playing. Do not underestimate them, Amrabat has been one of the highlights of the World Cup

DFB bosses, and especially Bierhoff, are a lot more at risk than Flick. Flick only joined after Euro but Germany are coming from three consecutive failures. They can't blame it solely on the coach. This was just the final nail in the coffin for the era that started in 2006 World Cup. Muller retired last night and this could be the last big tournament for Neuer and Gundogan. Now they have to rebuild so they may decide to stick with Flick for the time being.

Amrabat and Ziyech are great. Still salty the bald idiot a.k.a. worst head coach of all time Danny Blind chased both of them away to Morocco instead of welcoming them to the team, because our shit midfield could have benefitted greatly. I can see Morocco doing a 2008 Oranje though, smashing the group stage & then crashing out at the first knock-out game.
