Just a bunch of hypocrits. If they had any balls they'd wear that armband. Idk why is it so hard to respect their culture. They dont have any problem wearing the kits and shoes made by little kids tho. Also if any kind of virtue signaling should have been going on, it should be for all the workers that died during the stadium builds.
The Iranians didn't sing their anthem in sign of solidarity with the protests in Iran and they can face more serious repercussions. European guys are afraid to be banned a few games for their beliefs.

Especially the Germans after they stood with Ozil when he was talking about the muslims in china... ohh, wait they didn't. Like I said, a bunch of hypocrites.

All in all, id never use politics in sports anyway.

Are you sure it's their beliefs? Lol

Why should they risk themselves getting booked just to "send a message" that will not change anything anyway?

It's a PR stunt and everyone's afraid of their own shadow from the tabloids and twitter police to say that they don't approve of that nonsense.

English media and twitter gets crazy when opponents of English football don't take a fucking knee before games, as if that actually means anything.

This exactly, no bigot will see Harry Kane wearing a rainbow band and be like oh I won't hate gay ppl.

All these wearing rainbow armband, kneeling down is useless shit and it's nothing more than a PR stunt

The goal was solely on the goalkeeper. Horrible game by Japan tbh.

Their coach Moriyasu got all the sticks for dropping in-form Celtic starting players Furuhashi & Hatate and picked benched Maeda instead. He got all the praise for his changes after the first half in the game against Germany, but I personally think he was just correcting his initial mistakes as the players in the second half should start. Then he threw away another first half by starting players who should be on the bench against Costa Rica. They can't get into a rhythm if the coach keeps changes formations/players in every half.

Interesting choices by Flick. Kimmich, Goretzka and Gundogaan midfield trio, Muller as a lone striker and Havertz on the bench. Also a more reasonable defence.

Normally, this would be a must see match, but with Japan's loss today it could end up being a tactical snoozefest resulting in a draw. Let's hope not.

That's what i fear as well. Especially with Flick mirroring Spain formation.

Agreed. This game would be pretty cool if Japan had won. Right now, it's almost clear that both teams will qualify.
