yeap, and this was not some kind of a muscular injury.
Yeah this was just unlucky. Lucky for Sensi is there's the World Cup break now so he's not gonna miss two months worth of league games.

Monza confirm Stefano Sensi will undergo ankle surgery
The Italy international was subbed off in tears yesterday and the tests in hospital showed a fracture to the malleolus and base of the fibula. Therefore, he will be forced to undergo surgery in the coming days, the Brianzoli said in an official statement.

Monza specified that the Inter loanee would go under the knife to ‘reduce a fracture in the malleolus and base of the fibula.’

Sensi, 27, has two goals in 13 Serie A games this season. Monza don’t have an option to buy in the summer, so he will be back at Inter in 2023 unless the two clubs reach an agreement for his permanent stay at the U-Power Stadium in the coming months.

Really sorry for Sensi, these injuries seem to confirm what people here were saying about his build.

SENSI: ‘NOT LOOKING FOR REVENGE ON INTER’

Stefano Sensi underlined the psychological impact of his various injuries, why he moved to Monza and the assistance given by Antonio Conte.
The Italian midfielder has been unlucky with injuries, being forced to the sidelines for months at a time following his move to Inter in July 2019. Sensi initially started his Nerazzurri career well and looked set to be a key player, but various muscle and ligament injuries saw him slip down the hierarchies in Lombardy.

Sensi is currently sidelined with a fibula fracture, suffering the injury at the start of November. He’s expected to return for Monza in the coming weeks. Speaking to Corriere della Sera, Sensi first reflected on how he’s dealt with his injuries and his recent fibula fracture.

“More than a cry of pain it was a cry of fear. I felt the bone breaking, right away I had the perception of a serious injury. Moreover, with all the muscle stoppages I’ve endured, it’s the first incident of that nature.
“I feared the worst, not that a peroneal malleolus fracture is a minor injury. It’s not a question of whether or not I feel I owe credit to fate, but I really asked myself ‘why?, ‘why me again?'”

He spoke about how he’s worked to avoid suffering more physical issues.

“Look it’s not just a matter of training methodology. It’s really radically changed my approach to work. I have changed my diet, I pay attention to prevention and recovery.
“I have been helped by the physiotherapists but in particular a professional, Samuele Fenu, who supports me in many aspects, coordinating with the club facilities and Jean Pierre Meersseman.
“When you get injured often, even after you have healed, the terror of getting injured again takes over. You enter a dangerous vicious cycle.”

He explained why he decided to join Monza on loan.
“The chats with Adriano Galliani were decisive. He illustrated to me ambitions and the winning project.”

The 27-year-old Italian midfielder looked ahead to the upcoming Serie A clash against Inter, scheduled for January 7.
“I don’t have to prove anything and I’m not looking for revenge. For this year the goal is to do well at Monza.
“I am here on a dry loan, at the end of the year we’ll see. I have learned that you have to live well in the present, the future will then be a consequence.”

Finally, Sensi spoke about his work with former Inter coach Conte.
“At the level of tactics and intensity he allowed me to take an additional step. He believed in me and it was not a given that a team like Inter would go and buy a midfielder from Sassuolo.”
Wishing him best of health.

Good luck with that. It's pretty clear that getting injured and recovering from injury is mainly what his career has been about.

He has not got what it takes to play again consistently and shine.

MONZA PLANNING NEW DEAL FOR INTER LOANEE SENSI

TMW: Monza have been deeply satisfied with Sensi’s work this season and want to keep him in their squad, so they’re preparing to negotiate a new deal for the 27-year-old.

The Italian midfielder’s contract expires with Inter next year and they’d need to sell him for around €6m to avoid registering a capital loss.

One idea would be to renew his contract for one year in order to send him to Monza on a loan deal with an obligation to buy clause attached.
Inter directors: Galliani is funny so give him Sensi for peanuts.
