I’m not too worried about Gosens in the long run if his physique holds up (which it has for most of his career). I think Kostic would have been a better Perisic replacement, but Gosens is a good system player. If he was effective in Atalanta’s system, I don’t know why he couldn’t be that for us.

Exactly because our system is handmade for wingbacks rushing forward. Perisic was much more on top of that but that's in the past now. We can use Gosens' strengths too which are great-timed runs to the box. That requires of course some kind of counter-attacks or fast-attacks for Gosens to utilize the space (but we did that with Dumfries last season already a lot).

Dimarco deserves to start and Gosens will have dethrone him. Happy with the tandem moving forward. Robin has to earn the starting job.

I'm all for giving Gosens until at least the WC before passing any judgement, but his situation at Inter is in no way equivalent to Perisic's at Tottenham. If nothing else, because Gosens has been here since January, and Perisic only for a few weeks, most of which he's been recovering from injury.
If you mean he trained with the team, sure. Else, not really. He had very limited playing time last season and the match against Lecce was his first start for Inter.

Gosens is basically a new signing for Inter as Inzaghi preferred sticking with his starting lineup instead of integrating Gosens last season. I don't blame him for it but it wasn't helpful for Gosens. People need to relax a bit and give him time.

i think we need to temper expectations a bit, Gosens is a different wingback to Perisic as Cafecordoba pointed, his strengths are off the ball runs into dangerous areas. He'll need time to adjust his playstyle and Inzaghi in turn will have to adjust his tactics to accomodate Gosens. In meantime we should be on the look out for a wingback with strong dribbling/running ability (on either wing).

Inzaghi needs to give him a run of 4-5 starts in a row and see where he’s at. Stop jerking him around. I like Dimarco but he’s more effective off the bench. And tbh, he’s not a great wingback but more an attacking LCB. Let’s see what Gosens can produce with consistent minutes.

I agree, specially with Dimarco's role.

He was good to great last season as the offensive impact from the bench to the LCB role.

Wingbacks need to me real runners and also physical. Gosens fits to that bill, Dimarco not so much.

According to Longari, Leverkusen have approached Inter for Gosens.

From a financial point of view offer is great. Especially for a player who doesn't seem to be a good fit for our system. But who would you bring now? I can't think of anyone really.

I’d take it in a heartbeat.
Better to lose him, then Skriniar this late in the transfer window.
Cuz we all know if PSG comes with 70mil, Zhang won’t hesitate to offload him.

So let’s get this straight, we lost Perisic, missed out on Kostic and Udogie, just to sell Gosens and make a player who wasn’t good enough to be a backup LWB a year ago our full time starter? I’m genuinely checking out three games into the season.
