a hedge fund will want to make money.

So they will either sell all assets then sell us. Seems stupid with the amount of debt we have.

2nd make us a substainable business then resell us.

3rd make us a feeder team for a bigger asset they have. While it doesn't seem likely when Newcastle owner wanted us. They could have used us to make Newcastle a contender in England which would lead them to more revenue while totally Fking us.

We need to get rid of debt and not making champions league would put us in a big financial hole regardless of what route the new owners go.

So like people above said we can't just sell Barella, Bastoni, Skriniar, Brozo, Lautaro and Dumfries to get rid of all our debt then just call back everyone we have on loan. Plus do a salary cap on new players. We just won't be an attractive location for talent nor competitive.

What we can do is replace anyone who isn't a backbone for the future with cheaper options and make top sales. Like Lukaku and Hakimi last season. Who knows this one. But seems like ownership wants Bastoni, Barella and Lautaro to stay. Everyone else is fair game. Issue is we are desperate to sell so people are giving us BS offers

You seems to contradict yourself!

Making top sales? Let`s see: Skrniar, Bastoni, Barella, Lautaro are the only players who could be regarded as potentially top sales (8over 50m). Brozo too old. de Vrij, Dumfries, Hakan, Gosens were never in this category. And as we see even for Skriniar we don`t have the offers we expected.

Scouting and developing - this is the solution my man! No secret here! We need to learn that.
Look at Milan: Maignan, Kalulu, Tomori, Hernandez, Tonali, Bennacer, Diaz, Leao, Salaemaekers - all of these in the last 3 years. Plus a few old farts like Zlatan, Kjaer, Giroud to not let the kids shit their pants.

We need to learn that. Next year we won`t have DD, Darmian, Gags, Dzeko, Lukaku and possible Mikhi. We need to replace nearly all of these. Maybe it is time to start scouting.

it truly depends on what kind of a hedge fund takes you over. I personally couldn't be happier with Eliott. They've hired competent people, fixed the way the club was run, and now sold the club although they weren't really looking for buyers.

Having competent management is so crucial nowadays..and I'm not talking just about sporting directors and the scouting departments but management on the whole level. As much as our fans hated the appointment of Gazidis, his work was vital in getting us to where we are now. Since he took over, we've signed ~40 new partnership/sponsorship deals and renegotiated our kit deals where we actually earn decent money. Our scouting department was upgraded so that we have people that know what they're doing (can be seen from our latest deals) and overall Eliott started cutting unnecessary costs. The only thing left that needs a rehaul is our primavera. We've been signing promising players but our coaching staff was underwhelming.

Anyway, what I think really needs a change is how lega promotes the league. It's a fucking disgrace seeing how EPL earns 4 times as much as Serie a..the tv deals are a disgrace.
Unless something changes in the near future, I don't think any sustainable model will be able to challenge EPL clubs. It's sad seeing championship winners getting more money than scudetto winners :(

Seems like Juves Pogba return backfired look to be out for almost the remaining of the year.

I agree they do a shit job promoting the league it’s really the best example of how not to do it.

Tough to do when Italy is a feeder league for EPL, PSG, Bayern or Real/Barca.

Well they can only really blame themselves for that, Serie A was one if not the strongest league in the 90’s but they pissed that away, Serie A had an amazing position was shown across the globe in national television but they didn’t do enough to make it stay that way.

Well maybe a bit down to the Us because they are obsessed with England.

Remember growing up ESPN only ever mentioned Man U like they won the World Cup every year. (Yes, I get how wrong that comment is but you ask ESPN fans who don’t watch the sport it’s what they are told)

I know this isnt the topic for Serie A, but dont get me started comparing the league with EPL.

Growing up in Australia, having Batigol, Del Piero, Zidane and Ronaldo in the 90's - The best of the best but somehow the EPL was getting more market share and considered the best league in the world. And now, no league can compete with the money they throw away. I could only imagine how good Serie A could be with that financial backing. EPL pisses it away on mediocre players!!

We just need to keep elite talent, and if we're forced to sell hope the scouting network can replace them with potential talent that comes on.

Australian and Canadian markets will naturally favour the EPL due to the language. I also grew up with EPL games on TV and had to subscribe to RAI

Almost all markets tbh. English is a lingua franca and more and more used on a global scale every year. Italian, Spanish and German leagues would never be able to keep up just on the power of the English language alone.

They could if they invested more and produced stuff in English language. But hell no they won't do that.

that would be step 2, first of all they need to sort out the tv deals for MENA regions and others..just read this thread how disgraceful everything is. Instead of making more and more money, they're going down the road of making less and less. Imagine last season, instead of getting 100+ mil for tv rights, they ended up streaming games on youtube 🤦

It would be stupid if Raspadori goes to jube. Not because he proclaimed himself as Interista, but because he will get much less chances there than Napoli. Napoli have lost Mertens and Insigne, and definitely he will be starter there. Less pressure as well.

Mourinho is getting a pretty decent squad at his disposal next season. I'm looking forward to see if he can make them click.
Maybe top 4 but people that say theyre title contender are deluding themselves.. shit defence and midfield
