Since it’s blatantly obvious that Antonio Conte will most likely be shown the exit door this summer when he ends up with Szero tituli because he wouldn’t use his super secret hidden power plan B to help us win, let’s hear who do you want to replace him when he’s finally gone.

I’ll go with a bit unusual choice, Marcello Gallardo of River Plate. Guy’s is nothing less than a genius, pretty attacking minded with a great charisma, incredible winning mentality and flexible tactical choices varies between 4-3-1-2, 4-3-2-1, 4-1-3-2, 3-4-1-2, 3-1-4-2. But mainly, the 4-3-1-2 is often used as the main formation. He used to be an intelligent playmaker so he relies deeply on an attacking midfield with a trequartista which makes the whole team revolve around him. With the players we have atm I think he should do quite well at helm.

Other than that the obvious choices should be ofcourse Pochettino however I don’t believe we’ll be able to afford a third costy coach considering we’ll be paying Spalletti and Conte their wages still, perhaps Cambiasso or Zenga would be considered, though a very experienced coach with a new philosophy and charisma which isn’t so costy as well made Gallardo a more suitable coach considering the circumstances.

Gallardo leaving River? Highly unlikely.

Gallardo has never coached in Europe. He would be a huge gamble.

If we can't afford a top/semi-top coach, then try to lure Nagelsmann out of Leipzig. He has shown very promising signs both at Hoffenheim and Leipzig. He has a history of improving his players greatly and even make them look better than they actually are. He's also a fan of back 3 so the transition wouldn't be abrupt though, unlike Conte, he's willing to play with a back 4 if he doesn't have the players for his favorite formation. Else do what we should have done in 2016 and hire Marcelino, who's basically a poor man's Simeone. De Zerbi has showed some interesting signs but i am sick of Italian coaches and their mentality. I want to see something new.

I feel like Nagelsmann has said he's one of those "I need to speak the language to coach there" coaches, and he's also turned down Real Madrid before recently, more-or-less on basis of saying "I'm not ready for that job yet". I mean, doesn't hurt to ask, but I wouldn't put much hope into that one.

De Zerbi sounds like a fun one given the work he's done at Sassuolo, but there's still an element of gamble in there since Sassuolo is as high as he's gone. As boring a choice as he probably is, if the finances are there to manage it, Allegri is probably the #1 option for this club at this moment in time.

Well, there aren't any realistic options for now, unless Conte resigns on his own volition, which will lead to Max Allegri. Spalletti returning could be a cheap option for Suning as they won't add anything to the salary structure if they go that route. Won't happen though, relations aren't good anyway.

We could of course go for a cheap option that looks for redemption. The list of names may shock people, but it's an option given the way we're operating lately.
- Vincenzo Montella (cheap option that lands jobs at big Italian teams that are struggling)
- Walter Mazzarri (3-5-2/3-4-3 master)
- Walter Zenga (just a guy that knows Inter and act as a short term confidence boost)
- Luigi Di Biagio (bad choice, but still possible)
- Esteban Cambiasso (lottery pick, especially half way through the season after a failure in Europe)

I guess this is why people are okay with Conte finishing out the season, but since I'm not a fan of toxic environments I'd rather see a change for the sake of not infecting with poison the entire club before it's too late.

Anyway, the point is here. Our realistic options in the summer, assuming we still make Top 4 in the league:
- Massimiliano Allegri (if Marotta is still around, there's no point looking any further than this name)
- Mauricio Pochettino (if he waits for us)
- Laurent Blanc (after 5 years of no coaching job)
- Julian Nagelsmann (if we offer him a clear project and a lot of time)
- Diego Simeone (if we break his contract)
- Roberto Mancini (probably he leaves Italy after the Euro unless he wins it and goes for World Cup)
- Maurizio Sarri (quite unlikely but he wouldn't say no if offered the job)
- Marcelino (not a fan, never competed for a title)
- Ernesto Valverde (please no)

Il Messagero says our options are Max Allegri (of course) and Simone Inzaghi, who has recently risen to 3rd place in my list of most dislikable managers just behind Gasperini and De Boer.

Fun times ahead, but this is likely just an article to harvest clicks for the post-CL exit hysteria. Would be interesting to see what Inzaghi can do with an actual budget, and at least he got Lazio out of their group

I will take a long break from Inter if our next coach is going to be Simone freaking Inzaghi. He's a bigger whiner even than Conte. I would even prefer Sarri over him.

- Marcelino (not a fan, never competed for a title)

I don't think you were expecting him to compete for a title with Villareal and Valencia. And yet he managed to win the first Valencia title in ages even if it was as insignificant as Copa del Rey.

Not expecting him to compete with either squad, but I wouldn't pick him before he shows he can deal with pressure.

I have similar reservations for Pochettino.
This is why I always drew the line after Mourinho and Simeone. They looked like the only candidates that could deal with managing Inter and have championship and European experience at a high level.

Mourinho ship has sailed, bless Marotta for that. Simeone is still a possibility but not with Marotta here.

I have never seen Inter do well with any kind of 'beautiful football' mentality. Sarri, Pochettino, De Zerbi, we'll never prosper with that type of manager. As soon as even Conte tried to adapt a more expansive kind of football it all immediately went to shit

I'm unsure how Leipzig play so I can't say much on Nagelsmann, but my choices would be Allegri and Simeone. Seeing Mourinho terrorise Arsenal with 31% possession and counterattacks brought me a sense of deep nostalgia

I was a bit disappointed when Inter picked Pioli over him some years ago. I think he could do well at Inter and still think he does with this squad.

I dont understand why the club extended Spalletti's contract when there were rumors about him leaving at the end of his last season here. Now that terrible decision becomes a block when it comes to sacking Conte as well.

I really have no idea how a club with the history of Inter could be ruined by such narrowminded amateurish decisions. I mean you dont need to be a genius not to take some decisions which we see taking place at Inter. You just need to have common sense.

The sacking needs to come before the January transfer window. To save Ericksen and the season!

Timing is irrelevant at this stage. The financial damage is done.

What we can salvage is avoiding onboarding a bunch of players we cannot offload later on.

Simeone's contract ends in 2022, and he's already stated that he'll certainly coach Inter at one point. Just get some random low-cost motherfucker to tide us over for a year and then we can enjoy Cholo's catenaccio - no more embarrassment in the European stage.

Can try to go for Marco Rose.
Has done well with Gladbach and Salzburg.

Dude is very tactical and seems to have a winning mentality.

Biggest disadvantage with Inzaghi is we'd be stuck with 352 for a while again, Inzaghi isn't tactically flexible either. Must be said though, he is overachieving with an extremely thin and cheap squad, still has to deal with players like Leiva and Parolo. Coppa, Super Coppa and advancing in CL prior than us. The same team that got Vecino'd in last game of the 2018 season.

Pochettino or Gasperini. Both love attacking football and have reached at least a Champions League Semi-final.

Gasperini lost in the quarters. And we don't need to bring him back and I doubt he'd be interested.

We need someone with a proven track record of competing in both Europe and domestic competitions, more than just once.

The list is quite narrow:
Mourinho
Guardiola
Simeone
Klopp
Ancelotti
Allegri
Zidane

Cannot think of anyone else that's currently active. And I know that half of these names aren't as good as they sound and/or aren't in a position to come to Inter anytime soon.
