The big problem for Atalanta is their defence tho. Might be the right team for us to loan Bastoni to.

They might lose Ilicic which obviously would be a blow but getting Gasp to stay on is a step in the right direction. Atalanta are a pretty progressive club. At least for Italy. They own their stadium now and are in the process of renovating it, they play a very gung-ho style under Gasp which is pleasing to the eye for neutrals and they have a sizable and loyal group of supporters. If they can reinforce their squad and not get drawn into a group of death in the CL, they might surprise some people.

That better not mean wiping the slate clean of the hundreds of millions of negative spend. Because if taking a year out of the fucking Europa League was an option that we could have used to avoid the settlement agreement shit then we must truly be run by absolute turds. Not that that would be a surprise.

i wish i could have negotiated with the authorities the dozens of fines i got driving over the years, the way bbilan is doing with uefa. that would have saved me a lot of money.

We need to learn a thing or two from Milan and how they handle those types of negotiations. We could've still had Cancelo and/or Rafinha.

New Viola owner is a Juventus supporter, as media reports.

Sassuolo's owner is a Milan fan believe it or not.

If we are going for 3 at the back we need more central defenders.

They've been called a shopping mall these past 2 years but still managed to get results because of smart investments, selling at the right time doesn't make you a shopping mall it makes you smart. If we did that after the treble we'd be talking about Inter's two decades of dominance.

Looks like the FFP/SA reality is about to hit the Rossoneri hard. Gazidis is clearly taking a shot at Leo & the previous clowns with the "high stakes poker" comment. Gazidis may try to do an Arsenal here, but there is no Wenger to save the day. If Milan keep fucking up with their coaching decisions, they might actually become a mid table club

Gazidis: No more big names
By Football Italia staff

Ivan Gazidis has asserted that the days of Milan splashing out on big names are over. “There have already been enough illusions and lies.”

Elliott Management took control of Milan last summer after Li Yonghong defaulted on the loan he borrowed from the hedge fund to buy the club, with Gazidis brought in as CEO shortly after.

“Elliott’s vision is clear: to take away the financial burden from Milan and put them back in the right direction, letting them grow and making them a modern club,” he continued to Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Elliott never set a time limit, we don’t have a deadline and I won’t make promises to shorten the length of time it’ll take.

“Anyone looking for a magician who snaps his fingers, opens taps full of money and resolves everything won’t find it here.

“There have already been enough illusions and lies. The story of unfulfilled beautiful promises is over.

“We’re at Milan to give them a future at the top, with a serious, realistic path. It doesn’t mean we can’t dream. It means working hard to make those dreams come true. There are three fundamental points:

“1) Economic reorganisation, with the ability to generate profits and reinvest them;

“2) Increasing the quality of the team, bringing them back to the top of Italian and European football;

“3) Finding the right solutions for the stadium. Whether it’s San Siro or a new stadium, the world will have to envy it.

“I firmly believe in this project, we have a long and stimulating game to play and I’m sure we will win it.”

The former MLS commissioner was then asked about the Rossoneri’s approach to the transfer market, given their current financial constraints.

“We have great challenges ahead of us, as well as the desire to always play in Europe, but in compliance with the Financial Fair Play and existing parameters.

“Skipping the rules, looking for an unlikely ‘all in’ as if we were at a poker table isn’t only risky but also wrong because behind an alleged enjoyment of the moment is the abyss.

“Our objective for the next few seasons is to grow in compliance with FFP and bring in quality players who can grow with the club, showing their value and becoming a source of pride for fans.

“We won’t buy young talents just to sell them, but so that they stay and write Milan’s future history.

“There will be the right balance between quality young players and those with leadership and experience.

“But our strategy isn’t to invest in top players or those who have already been, but rather in those who can become top players with our jersey.

“We won’t burn cash for just one season in the present. We want to build for the future with a generation of strong players who can grow quickly with the club, who have enthusiasm and are ready for the challenge.”

I can see Milan as an Everton type for the next few years.

I maintain we literally ruined their season with that 3-2 derby win.

Or Dortmund and Tottenham.

Or Dortmund and Tottenham.

Hmm, that would require A) CL participation, B) Smart management and player scouting, and C) A great manager.

None of those things look like they're happening soon over there.

gasperini has signed a contract extension with atalanta till 2022, which means that, despire some rumours in the past days, he won't move. sarri yesterday after the match dedicated the win to the napoli supporters buty added that sometimes a career may lead to some choices (which is most likely an indirect confirmation he will go to juventus, unless chelsea gets in the way).

it's still unclear who will be roma and milan's coaches.

It will be funny if Sarri goes to Milan and they finish above us.

We've been saying this for the past few seasons but never happened.

Their "all in" poker-style of transfermarket almost paid off if only we had tied with Empoli. They've been climbing the table year after year and if I were Milan I would continue on the same path. Who cares about a lousy exclusion from EL (if were to happen).

I wouldn't use the word funny but it would be something anyway.

I would pay money to see Kessie, Biglia, and Calhanoglu try and play Sarri's high pressing, possession based style

According to latest reports, Mihajlovic could take over Roma.

Roma starting to spiral out of control. Supporters despise Pallota, DDR being forced out, new stadio caught up in endless amounts of red tape and corruption, selling their best players year after year and now possibly hiring Miha, a mid-table manager at best.
