Yeah, all the strikers who face Skriniar will suddenly become shittier for some unknown reason.

Why are you guys upset that he's so underrated? We should keep it that way!

He's not underrated. At least by those who understand the game.

The "problem" is that every fucking average Joe listens to Sky Sports nonsense and think that Skriniar is overhyped because he's not a PL player or doesn't play for a perennial CL contender, though the only ones admitted by PL fans are Real Madrid and Barcelona. For example everyone probably rates Umtitti as the best center back for this reason. I wouldn't choose him over Miranda, let alone have him start at Inter...

In this (social) media driven world, it's imperative to get real facts over silly propaganda in the air. And it's also painful to see Joe fucking Gomez who would struggle to be a part of Atalanta be considered such a legit defender.

This was from his agent last summer.
"I can say that we are not in a position to request a transfer to the Nerazzurri club: there are offers of the best five clubs in the world, but we have no intention of putting pressure on Inter."

Btw, word on the street says that those clubs were Barcelona, Man Utd and PSG It was also rumoured that Real Madrid and Bayern enquired about him but didn't make any offers. I think the highest bid was around 70m, maybe 75m. Don't remember now.

Heard we rejected 75 million from Man U

Man Utd's bid in the summer was 65m. The 75m bid was reported as of late, as a January transfer. Not sure if that's true but probably is.

But what I posted was referring to the early summer, when that quote was taken from his agent. PSG had offered us the most in the summer.

Is there a FIF-member who can help me get the football outfit of Slovakia with Skriniar printed on it? Not a fake one but the official jersey, short and socks? If so please PM me, thank you in advance!

I had a look on barcaforum and they said he’s nothing special. Suarez and Dembele were just being shittier than usual

 I bet they said Suarez was great last game against us. I bet they also blamed this 0-0 on not having Messi. I bet they blame the management, the cleaner, the water boy and the airplane for not being good enough. And I fucking bet they said Messi does everything that's why they don't won.

So? He does slide to save the ball from going out lots of times, but there's no rule that says a defender has to slide for a tackle all the time. He's also doing it to stop a close range shot.

He's a big boy, it'd take him a lot of time to recover and stand up after a sliding tackle so he's learned an even harder way to make his presence felt without having to extend his body in that manner. If a sliding tackle fails, the attacking player has all the time he wants to do as he pleases as it leaves a lot of space between him and the next defender who can stop him.

If he's managed to play as a right back against Lucas Moura and only lost him once or twice throughout the game, there's no reason to use this against him. He'll slide tackle far from the goal only if he feels that the opponent can really skim through him and there's no other way to stop him.

Just like the great Maldini once said, "If i have to make a tackle, then I already have made a mistake".

I agree. Sliding can be less problematic if you're an exceptionally fast and agile defender like Cordoba or Zanetti. I remember defenders asking for death wishes when sliding towards Ronaldo (the Brazilian), and if I my memory serves me Nesta has fallen into that too. Skriniar is doing a great job but I'm hoping that he doesn't get exposed against faster tempos and more spaces when facing CL teams with different gameplays than Serie A. Thankfully though, he's done a great job against Barca.

I think you're confused, the fear that he will be exposed presupposes that he has weaknesses in his game to be exposed

He gets burned against faster players quite easily. In 1 v. 1 against quick players he can't do shit.

was a compliment.

Yeah, slide tackling is usually a desperate, last resort. Problem being is if you fuck up, you take yourself out of the game.

To be fair, after his yellow vs Tottenham he did get burned by Lucas a few times. I'll put that down to not wanting to tackle incase he was sent off.

If I'm not wrong he was playing as Right back too. I don't think there are many CBs who are comfortable playing as RBs.

Hopefully yesterday was a humbling experience for him, bring him back down to earth and show him he isn't the god we've been saying he is and that he has to work on some aspects of his play. This should be an opportunity for him to grow
