I think this thread needs to be renamed Saint Big Dong (Zhang Jindong) because it was Suning Hondings Group who bought Inter and they are 100% owned by Saint Big Dong.

But wait a minute. After series of research it turns out that Suning Big Dong, which owns Suning Holdings Group which is owned by Zhang Jindong is owned by Big Dong Moratti, which is owned by Massimo Moratti. Mods, rename the thread to 'Big Dong Moratti Inc'.

FcIn: Cordoba to return to Inter? At the moment no meeting between the two parts
No contacts between the two parts. However, one finds it difficult to think that Ivan Cordoba would reject any offer from Inter, a club in which he became a world wide player and began his career as a director, having been appointed as Team Manager from July 2012 to September 2014.

Lately, rumours have it that the Colombian player could return to Inter as a Sports Director following Inter's takeover by Suning Commerce, with the aid of Javier Zanetti. At the moment, nothing is yet confirmed and there have been no contacts between the two parties, with the Colombian still studying and improving on his English which will be useful for any future job.

What's sure is that any eventual call from Inter will not be refused, at any role, since Piero Ausilio is doing a great job and his input will surely be highly appreciated by everyone at the club. Cordoba can offer what someone two years ago didn't manage to recognize or did not fancy.

I realize something needed to change, and that we were in danger of effectively falling behind the elite European clubs for good...

But this ownership change has caused me to reflect a bit. This 'loaning-of-Suning-players' shit? Exploiting loop-holes in regulations set in place that require healthy financials for the better good of football clubs?
I know this is a "can't beat em', join em'" mentality, but it seems too shady for my likening.

I welcome a breath of fresh air as much as the next fella', but my spider senses are tingling here. I've always been a detractor of clubs like PSG and City, financial doping, and as cliché as might sound, "modern football" as a whole, and I don't want to see one of the things i value most in life turn into the exact thing i loathe.

I've always seen us as something special in a ever-growing football world of cynisism and dollar signs - a family.
When Recoba was out with injuries for half his time with us, we believed in him and gave him every chance to succeed. Same with Adriano after his father died. Moratti's love for his players, and so forth. Those are the things that define a club, not how much they spend on player wages and transfers.
I realize the above things had their 'other side of coin' consequences, but to me, that's part of what's made us stand out and what I've loved this club for.

I'm not bringing this up because our new owner's surname is 'Zhang' - hell, I appreciate big time what Thohir did for us. As long as the Chinese make some sense of our situation, clean up our economy and bring us on the right path regarding a stadium, I'm all for it and them. But if we'll be seeing subpar Asian players (instead of subpar any-other-nationality players, heh) running around on our team in a little while, in an attempt to market to the Chinese, or we'll see the return of the red away jersey, hell... I dunno', it's just not us. We're much better than that - I hope.

I realize I'm being incredibly naive, nostalgic and namby-pampy about this takeover. For many on this forum, it seems like it's come like a god-send, what with us being linked to better players and such. I just pray it doesn't come at the expense of our 'soul', because ultimately, that's why I root for this club. I don't want to support just another PSG or City. I want to support Inter.

Sorry for sidetracking, but I'm just sceptical of how this will turn out.

During The presidency of Thohir we did see an example of the club move more towards marketing.
Like with the acquisition of Nemanja Vidic for his popularity instead of Rolando.
Or Vidic starting wen he had no strong connection or communications with his teammates instead of the different alternatives.
The model of Erick Thohir looked more like an english club than Internazionale.

I want some competent guys at key positions. Definitely not the ex-players just because they were legends at the club. Zanetti might work as a president or perhaps vice-president, as he commands huge respect in the football world. That's not not so much an operational position. Sporting director definitely is and I definitely do NOT want Cordoba to be a sporting director. We should aim for top guys in the business and not some old friends.

They're just titles most of the time when stuff like this happens, it doesn't mean anything. Zanetti being "president" is not the same thing as Thohir or Moratti being president.

Yeah that would be a fairly symbolic and ambassadorial role I would wager. He'd still be under instruction from the chairman and probably leave a lot of executive work to the ceo

Yeah, I couldn't agree more. Having one legend (Zanetti) as a "brand ambassador" with an honorary title is good, but most of the functional roles need to be filled by professionals who have proven themselves in that field.

They may be able to buy all their wanted players but they can't bring our soul back if they first have got rid of it.

I'm tired of reading posts about us now signing 15 world class players as this seems to be the only reason to why people are supporting this club as they don't give a shit about tradition and heritage. I don't want a Chinese version of Vincent Tan nor a ownership similar to the ones of Manchester City and PSG as a club like ours deserves much better.

If Suning are able to bring us better facilities, make our club more visible marketing-wise and have a much more international focus in its communication then I'm pretty sure we will do just fine without having to bring in expensive football players. Just take a look on Juventus and Bayern München.

Suning Sports owns 68.5% of Inter. Suning Sports is a JV between Suning Holdings Group (SHG) and Suning Appliance Group (SAG). Zhang owns 100% of SHG and 48% of SAG. SAG also owns Jiangsu Suning FC.

Now please don't ask me which Inter company I am talking about :chan:

Gazzetta dello Sport today comments on the strategies Suning will use to re-launch the brand of Inter.

“Chinese group can move very quickly as the deal demonstrates, because every man knows what to do. That’s why Jun Ren, Zhang Jindong’s right hand man, will join the Inter Board with Steven, son of Jindong, and he is in contact with the best consulting companies and headhunters to find the best profiles to be included in the club.”

Regarding the mercato: “There is no time to change the deal subscribed 13 months ago with Uefa about FFP, but they can raise revenues with sponsorship and China e-commerce with Inter merchandising. Also Italian supporters have to be involved. But Jiangsu could buy big players with great salary, and that opens new possibilities, through loans to Inter.”

Yes i read that JS Suning cant loan players to us, but can sell them for small sum, but still UEFA will review every transfer! Also if we sell Melo there for 12m how media says Iam sure that Juve will report us and UEFA will reiview and that transfer, even all China clubs buy players for +10-20m over real price :challenge:

... Italian medias still told that JS Suning will loan players like Ramires and Teixeira + Jo and Yaya Toure all non-EU - when we have only one non-EU spot! :yao: (they also continue to told that Yaya gets 12m after taxes... etc)

It's not because of ffp. It's because it's so fucking blatantly corrupt.

The only reason we're discussing it, and the only reason it could be considered "corrupt" is because of ffp.

It's not like it actually saves Suning money. Are there tax or revenue-sharing implications that we're not considering here?
