Tough to pick sides as it's Hernandez Vs RVP for us United fans but I have cheered for Netherlands this WC because of LVG and I will stick with them.

Don't really see many problems in this game. Especially with Robben in his form and Van Persie back.

Time for another run deep in the tournament. 2-0 win.

You should try and be normal for a freaking change. Lucky? The team's just been better than its opponents, in tactics as well as on the field. Just because I think Colombia is overrated and I won't hold back to speak out that opinion doesn't mean you have to feel like your ass is burned. Were you playing in their team? They still have another chance and probably two to show they real worth, if it's any more than this, and prove me wrong. And if they do and even win the WC as you have so often predicted then I'll probably be blown away and convinced, but I just don't see it happening. With or without Falcao.

And be realistic, you're talking as if they are already in the semis but it's a long way for them to go. You're raging shit like an 8 y/o but you must know some manners.

I think it won't be that easy, Mexico have shown some pretty good games, the only thing we have in advance is our ability to adapt to our enemies whatever their playing styles... while Mexico nearly always plays the same system. Their predictability could be what Van Gaal will exploit. I do believe we have way more scoring ability though, and the defense has proven fine so far (Chile had 1 chance. 1), but Mexico will make it a tough game and they can surprise and might even take it if things go their way just a little bit... some great players there. This one's fucking hard to predict. Though I feel it will once again be Van Gaal's tactical mastermind saving our asses.

Officially it's Netherlands, but Holland is just so grown in to everyones mind that nobody even cares anymore. I guess we are even versatile in names. :troll:

Only a large part of the people actually living here cares, because we have 12 provinces and only two are called 'Holland', so the people in the other 10 see it as something incorrect... I also don't live in either of the Hollands but I still can't care less, I guess it's just tradition and Holland is fine by me. Especially internationally no one gives a shit.

Netherlands will stomp Mexico and have a good chance of making it at least to the semifinals.

Sadly Netherlands is way stronger, even if Mexico has a great game and dominates possession, Netherlands has more attacking power. I imagine we can see something similar to what happened against Chile, Chile having a good game but in the end couldn't score.

Mexico has only given up one goal in the world cup thus far. This will be a very tactical affair unless there's an early goal. I wouldn't count out a surprise Mexico victory here, if they score first they are one of the hardest teams in the tournament to breakdown.

Meanwhile LVG is very smart and won't expose his side and won't allow Peralta to link up with Dos Santos on the counter. Look for them to sit deep and attempt to let Robben do what he's been doing all tournament.

Whoever scores first will win IMO.

Cannot say I disagree. What is your opinion on Vazquez being suspended for yellow cards? How important of a player for Mexico is he?

We are too imprecise in posession. A little nervous and shaky. As soon as that changes and they pass and combine solid we will get chance after chance and we will start utilizing those to goal after goal. Sometimes they reach that level, in flashes... like against Spain in the second half. The combinations were just fucking insane. The team is just too young and unexperienced to maintain that level game after game and when they WILL be capable of doing that, the likes of Van Persie, Robben, Sneijder and co will probably already fucken retire.

Though we do approach first halfs calmly and defensively on purpose. But I hope the switch to play so perfect permanently somehow still gets on sometime during this WC, preferably against Mexico, and they will suddenly be the most fucking insane team there.

Now wait and see us get fucked ala EC 2008 instead :yao:

Extremely important. Not only he is our best DM, he is our ONLY DM! We used to have Medina but he got injured before the world cup and surprisingly the coach called another LWB instead of a DM. That guy can play as a DM too but is not his best position, Salcido can play there too but he's old now and not too strong. Another option is Marquez but I never liked him that much in that position.

So basically, I have no idea who will play there, maybe Salcido. He's strong, calmed and experienced. But slow. It really hurts that Vazquez will be out, he's been a great surprise this World Cup.

Good to know.... wondered if me saying "Netherlands" was wrong or odd since I never heard of Holland until I was in history class.

Hoping for a smooth victory for the Netherlands. But Mexico's keeper might give them fits.

Yeah if Mexico push higher up then Robben will have a great day running at your defense.IMO it's too dangerous to attack Netherlands by pushing defense higher up. Also I feel Hernandez should start as his movement is just pain in ass for defense which also frees up other players.

You are not good in possession because like you said it's the part of set up. There was few moments in Spain game where you guys out passed Spain but after that you just dropped deeper and hit them on the counter attack.

This looks like a plan, drop deeper and use the pace of Robben to hit the teams on the break. Also you don't have good enough midfielders to control possession against all the teams tbh.So LVG is playing to the strengths.

I actually think Mexico will win. They are so disciplined and u never know where the danger is coming from. Its not one or two players you have to mark.
