You choose what market you wanna look. The guy with more or less the same number of league goals in Bundesliga is earning...1m net, talking about the other polar.

The fact is that only one in Serie A hitting the 11-digit mark and Vlahovic deal is obviously stupid. The marketing value of this league is too low to afford such balance. Roma couldnt pay Lukaku too long and he is returning to the real owner. While with Osimhen I don't think Napoli could afford either and the extension is just the price boost before selling soon. Him and Kvaratskhelia.

Per rumour, 9m, is already a bit overreach for Inter finance but that's still fine. 10m+ or more he should look for that in another league.
I'm choosing the market that is relevant, which is Serie A. Lautaro's camp isn't gonna care why those guys earn that much.

Anyway, where is the rumour that he's requesting more than 10 even coming from?

?!? I do say the Serie A market most of the post.

Lautaro always wants 11 digit. Thats the reason the deal is stagnated.

Well you brought up Bundesliga which in my opinion isn't relevant at all. We are talking about market price in Serie A so why bring up Bundesliga?

When you negotiate, you start high, just how Inter is starting low as well, pretty sure we'll reach an agreement before the end of the season, just like Marotta said.

Lautaro is worth 9mil/ season in this football economy. Just look at the names listed prior and what they earn. He's also a model professional and the captain who has helped create a strong locker-room; this shouldn't be overlooked. And there's still a good chance he wins serie A player of the season so it's not like he hasn't be delivering the goods in aggregate.

It is. Market shouldnt be restricted in Serie A. We can buy players from other leagues as well, so market scouting is necessary when one's demand is exceeding the capacity of the team.

Bundesliga is more or less the same level as Serie A, so should be proven enough.

The origin of the discussion is from the post whether we should extend at 10m+. Scroll some posts back and you'd see. Imo not. 9m bonus including should be the take or leave limit.

Vlahovic is way overpaid, Osimhen is purported going to some big money club elsewhere and the less said about Lukaku the better. In Lautaro's defense he is better than Vlahovic and worth more than Lukaku, jury still out on Osimhen imo.

Do we want to be the team that pays top dollar for the top players in the world or do we want to be some pretender that sells whomever asks for their dues and then crucify them as mercenaries?

I offer you an alternative where we refuse to sell whomever asks for their dues and then crucify them as mercenaries when they leave on a free transfer.

Get real people. Of course we're going to sign Lautaro, it's a negotiation.

If we sold him, we wouldn't be able to sign a better replacement, considering what he means to the team, not just being a striker scoring goals.

Nothing is going to be signed before the ownership situation is settled and the date for that is closing. Of course, anything can happen regarding that, but assumption is this will be settled in the summer at the latest (Inzaghi first, Barella then, then Lautaro).

Bundesliga is a bad example as a reference point. In general German clubs have low wage bills and that's how they manage to stay profitable. Only Bayern could outbid Serie A clubs in terms of salaries. Even Dortmund would struggle to compete with an Italian top club.

Despite Serie A being poor Italian clubs still spend a lot of money on salaries. And that's how they manage to keep Italian top players at home and even some second rate talents from abroad.

Also you can't compare Lautaro with Guirassy. Guirassy is having his first prolific season and Stuttgart were involved in a relagation battle till last season. Different worlds.

Would I pay 10 mil/season for Lautaro ? Yea.
Would I try to lower that amount because its a fuckton of cash and I'm a professional club that needs to keep wages in check because no clown pockets ? Yea.

Fuck that. 8M + penalty bonus @ 100k per penalty scored.
